Synology has launched a new 1-bay NAS server ‘DiskStation DS118’ for the mass market. Designed for small office and home users, this 1-bay NAS server is equipped with a 1.4GHz Realtek RTD1296 64-bit quad-core processor, a 1GB DDR4 RAM and one 2.5-/3.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD bay (up to 12TB).

Supporting 10-bit 4K H.265 online transcoding via Video Station and DS video – allows 4K videos to be converted and played on your computers, mobile devices or other media players that don’t support Ultra HD formats, this 1-bay NAS server comes with a Kensington Security Slot, 2x USB 3.0 ports, 1x Gigabit Ethernet port and 1x built-in 60mm fan.
