Top 5 Gaming PCs for Hardcore Gamers in 2017

Playing games has been my passion for about 18 years now. I started playing Roadrash when I was 3 and have now grown to play the current AAA titles like Rising of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Mafia III and more. I’ve also been helping people with PC configurations as well as building PCs for a variety of uses like gaming, basic home use, and multimedia.

Today, we’re going to check out the Top 5 Gaming PCs for Hardcore Gamers that are in the market today. Some of them are from lesser known brands, but they offer the best price-to-performance ratio.

ArmYourDesk G50

If only looks could kill. The G50 from ArmYourDesk is a drool worthy PC that comes with some great hardware inside. This is more inclined to seasoned gamers on a budget of $1000 or less. The G50 comes with the latest 7th gen Core i7-7700 clocked at 3.6GHz. It supports Hyper-Threading, meaning that you get 4 cores and 8 threads for faster execution of processes.

The processor is aided by 8GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133MHz as well as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics card for smooth gaming at 1080p. Most of the modern titles should give around 60fps at 1080p, but some games might need a bit of tuning down. ArmYourDesk G50 also has a 128GB M.2 SSD and 1TB of additional storage. The cabinet looks gorgeous with its honeycomb pattern all over it. The red LED and the transparent side panel compliments the look. It is definitely one of the Top 5 Gaming PCs for Hardcore Gamers under $1000. ArmYourDesk also offers free worldwide shipping and a 10-day money back guarantees for a hassle free purchase.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Y710 Cube

The Lenovo IdeaCentre Y710 Cube looks more like it is from the future. It is a portable, compact gaming PC coming at a price tag of $1,499. It also justifies this price tag with some top of the line specs. To be honest, it is a monster waiting to be unleashed. It comes with Intel Core i7-6700 processor with a clock speed of 3.4GHz. There is 16GB of DDR4 RAM which can be further expanded to 32GB. That is not all. There is a 128GB SSD along with 1TB of HDD storage, which too, can be upgraded. The system is Wi-Fi enabled for ease of connectivity. Lastly, we have the strongest selling point of this system and that is the GPU. It has one of the world’s most powerful GPUs and that is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. This comes with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM and it’ll definitely easily demolish anything and everything that you throw at it.

ArmYourDesk G58

ArmYourDesk G58 has an industrial design with transparent side panels and three beautiful red LED fans in the front. We all know that AMD kicked up a revolution with the release of their Ryzen CPUs. With the G58, you get the latest AMD Ryzen 7 1700 which is an 8-core, 16-thread processor clocked at 3.0GHz. It is also extremely power efficient with just a 65W TDP. Ryzen is aimed mainly at seasoned gamers and it offers stellar performance at 1080p and 4K.

But a gaming PC cannot perform well without a great graphics card. That department is taken care of by the latest AMD RX580 GPU with 8GB of GDDR5 memory. There is also 8GB of DDR4 memory clocked at 2133MHz. Like the ArmYourDesk G50, the G58 also has a 128GB M.2 SSD and an additional 1TB of HDD. This PC can handle all the games at 1080p and 1440p at 60fps without any hiccups. It is also VR Ready for all those VR lovers out there. At a price tag of $1,149, it is one of the Top 5 Gaming PCs for Hardcore Gamers in the market right now.

Corsair One PRO

This is the most powerful gaming PC on this list but it is also the most expensive. Not everyone would like to shell out over $2000 for a gaming PC. It has most of the world’s best components which make it extremely competitive when it comes to performance. At the heart of it is the Intel i7-7700K, the bestselling CPU from Intel. There is a massive 480GB SSD along with a whopping 2TB of HDD storage for storing all those large games, Blu-Ray content and more. Next, we have 16GB of DDR4 RAM that will be more than enough for the current AAA titles and switching between multiple applications as well as for other uses like content creation, encryption, extraction, etc. Lastly, we have a liquid cooled Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. All this put inside a very compact case that has a really small footprint is every gamer’s dream.

ArmYourDesk G60

Last, but not the least, we have the ArmYourDesk G60. Contrary to the name, the G60 is priced at $929 and is a step up from the G50 in terms of GPU, but a step down in terms of the processor. It looks exactly like the G58 with its industrial design and three front facing red LED fans. The G60 comes with the 7th gen Kaby Lake i5-7500 CPU along with 8 gigs of DDR4 RAM. The i5-7500 is clocked at 3.4GHz and is a quad-core processor.

The RAM is clocked at 2133MHz. The major selling point of this PC is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of GDDR5 memory. It is one of the best graphics cards for smooth 1080p gaming and it also supports VR. Like all the other PCs from ArmYourDesk on this list, the G60 also comes with a 128GB M.2 SSD and 1TB of 7200RPM HDD.

#1 Best Gaming Desktop: CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100A

Why it’s in the top 5: When it comes to a starter PC, the price and the specs can’t beat what you get with the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100A, which seems like it was made to make the transition into PC gaming as comfortable, and affordable, as possible.

In our opinion, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100A is the best gaming desktop to buy when you take price and performance into account. It’s perfect for new gamers who are just getting into PC gaming, and is set up to be upgraded with plenty of space up top to add components. Pretty much any PC game will run extremely smooth on it, especially on low settings, and as we mentioned, you can easily upgrade it for the more demanding features. Buy it on Amazon.

#2: SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I Desktop Gaming Computer

Why it’s in the top 5: With almost instantaneous boot time and close to 0 bloatware when you start it up for the first time, the SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I is the ideal gaming desktop for gamers who want to cut the BS and get straight to business.

If it wasn’t for the price, the SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I would be on the top of our gaming desktop list. However, at its price range, it’s probably the best PC around. It’s extremely fast, it’s very clean in terms of software and hardware when you get it, and like the other computers on this list, it’s very simple and welcoming for upgrading. Plus, I love the blue. It’s not the most silent of machines, but it’s worth making the effort. Buy it on Amazon.

#3: CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A Gaming Desktop

Why it’s in the top 5: The combination of the price ($720), the performance thanks to a terrific video card and the surprising quality of build make the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR gaming desktop an incredible way to introduce gaming to new PC users.

For the price, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A gaming desktop PC is close to ideal, especially for new PC gamers. Basically, the RX 480 ensures you’ll be able to run pretty much every possible game on it. Buy it on Amazon.

#4: SkyTech Archangel Gaming Computer

Why it’s in the top 5: For this price ($599.99), it’s probably difficult to find a better PC for both gaming and rendering videos (or something in that ballpark) than the SkyTech Archangel gaming computer.

Our second SkyTech creation on the list, and just a tad less impressive than the Shadow. The SkyTech Archangel gaming computer stands out not just because of it’s slick white exterior, but it’s simply an excellent device, regardless of the price (and excellent one) you pay for it. Your games, or any other activity you choose to use it for, will run quickly and smoothly. Buy it on Amazon.

#5: CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 Gaming Desktop

Why it’s in the top 5: Again, when it comes to new PC gamers, it’s hard to beat this price and get this quality in terms of graphics and speed. The CyberpowerPC GUA880 gaming desktop is the cheapest PC on this list, but it’s more of an advantage than a deterrent, as long as you know what you’re getting, which we’re here to help you do.

CyberpowerPC’s GUA880 gaming desktop PC rounds up our top 5. It’s cheaper than the others on the list for a reason: It’s initially built for lighter gaming and not the heavy-duty graphic demands of high-end stuff like Witcher 3 on its ultra settings. But for the more casual PC users who aren’t that huge on gaming, or simply want something a little more low-tech to upgrade from, it’s a fantastic purchase. Buy it on Amazon.

Top 7 just doesn’t sound as good as Top 5, but there were a couple of desktops we were considering putting into the list. If one of our ‘5 Best’ doesn’t sit right with you or you’d like to see a couple of more options, here they are:

First Runner-Up: CUK Trion VR Ready Gaming PC

The CUK Trion gaming PC is probably the ultimate gaming machine. You can run games at 1080p 60 fps or even at higher resolutions smoothly and crisply. It can render videos in minutes. A great thing to own if you’re on your PC all the time. But there’s a price to pay for this kind of quality, which is why we left it out: You can buy it on Amazon for $1949.99.

Second Runner-Up: SkyTech Archangel 960-I Gaming Desktop

While I love SkyTech PCs, the Archangel 960-I was left out because it’s a tad inferior to the five we let in, considering the price and performance. For computers at under $700, it does as good of a job as any pretty much. I also slightly prefer something other than the red & white combination. You can buy it on Amazon for $689.99.

Famous Last Words

Look, you can’t go wrong with the seven computers on the list here. If money isn’t a problem and you’re looking for the cream of the crop, get the CUK Trion gaming PC. However, it didn’t make our top 5 for a reason: Most of us, even avid gamers, don’t want to pay that much. PCs like the SkyTech Shadow AMD-1060-I are going to run any game extremely well. And if you’re looking for lighter gaming or consider yourself a noob, there’s nothing better than the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3100A, which doesn’t set you back too much. Obviously, you can dive into the vast world of gaming desktops and try to find the perfect fit for you out of the countless options. But if you stick to our recommendations, regardless of the gaming desktop you choose, I’m pretty sure you’ll be more than satisfied.
