New NEC Aterm WF1200HP2 Dual-band WiFi Router Featuring Children Safe Net Timer Function

NEC has showed off a new dual-band WiFi router ‘Aterm WF1200HP2’ to its range. Corresponding to the ‘Draft 11ac’ (the new standard for Wireless LAN IEEE802.11ac), this home router is equipped with one Internet LAN port, three LAN ports, NFC pairing function and WiFi TV mode relay function, and supports for dual-band WiFi access point (2.4GHz – 300Mbps and 5GHz – 867Mbps).

Furthermore, the Aterm WF1200HP2 comes with Children Safe Net Timer function – limits the Internet connection time of the child and provides security through encryption using WPA2-PSK (AES), WPA-PSK (TKIP) and WEP (128/64-bit).

The NEC Aterm WF1200HP2 will hit the market from February 4th for 6,480 Yen (about $55). [NEC]

NEC has unveiled a new Windows 10 tablet to its line-up, the LAVIE Tab TW710 / CBS. Measuring 9.1mm thick and weighing 597 grams, this mid-range tablet comes with a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 WUXGA touchscreen display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom x7-Z8700 Cherry Trail processor (w/ built-in graphics card), a 4GB RAM and a 64GB of internal storage.

Furthermore, the tablet is packed with a 1.2MP front-facing camera, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a microSD card slot, 1x USB 3.0 port, 1x micro-HDMI output port and an 11.5-hour battery. Aimed at business users, this drip-proof, dust-proof and shock-proof tablet is configured with a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 (16:10) display, a 1.46GHz Intel Atom E3815 (Bay Trail) processor, a 4GB RAM and a 16GB or 64GB of internal storage.

Corresponding to the ‘Draft 11ac’ (the new standard for Wireless LAN IEEE802.11ac), this home router is configured with one Internet LAN port and four LAN ports, and supports for dual-band WiFi access point (2.4GHz – 800Mbps and 5GHz – 1,733Mbps).

Utilizing the Mu-MIMO technology (providing comfortable communication environment when you connect multiple terminals without loss of speed), the Aterm WG2600HP provides security through encryption using WEP (128bit), WPA2-PSK (AES), WPA/WPA2-PSK (AES) and WPA/WPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES).
