DARPA wants to track enemy through clouds, seeks tech proposals

Divyam Singh:

The overhead aircraft support provides cover and support to the war fighters who participate in a battle from ground. The support is beneficial and sometimes can be crucial in deciding the fate of the war. When the clouds cover the sky, some capabilities get lost as the ground views of the aircraft gets hindered During the support missions the airborne weapon systems use the electro-optic or the EO sensors but are not able to see through clouds.

The robotic hand with artificial tendons for a better grip

Divyam Singh:

The four fingers and the opposite thumb hand form that is found in humans has taken its present shape after going through thousands of years of human evolution. It is not easy for the researchers to replicate it identically, but the robotic hands are being designed by using various new and innovative methods. The universal jamming gripper was one such device that was made after research. A robotic hand that is delicate yet powerful can be created by using the available technology but to place a robotic hand inside the compact arm was difficult technologically and practically. Now a group of European researchers have used the novel string actuator which acts as a human tendon ( it is artificial though) and have succeeded in a working robot hand.
