Skin Care App Aims to Help Acne Sufferers

One thing that men and women stress about constantly is acne. We live in a pretty shallow society where people are often judged by their looks. The unfortunate thing about acne is that, aside from being painful when it’s at its worse, is that it also leave unsightly marks when it heals. One Japanese app developer’s solution? A dynamic and interactive smartphone app that acne sufferers can use to get advice on how they can treat their skin.

To do this, users take a picture of their skin on various areas of their faces (such as cheekbone, nose, and mouth area) using their smartphone’s camera and has the app analyze their current skin condition by scanning the photos. When the analysis is complete, the app displays a score rating the user’s skin.

The app is meant to be used over a period of time, which allows users to monitor their skin condition and monitor the progress of its improvement – or lack, thereof.

The app is still currently under development by Fujitisu Laboratories in Japan. Users can expect the app to be rolled out sometime towards the end of this year.
