The TV series The Walking Dead is being shown on FOX in Portugal, and the network has found a unique way to promote the fourth season. They are using pop-up stores where they ask people to come in and donate blood in exchange for Walking Dead merchandise. Sounds pretty good to me.

They get more blood in their blood bank and you get a cool toy. It’s like a hospital Happy Meal. This endeavor caused blood donations to go up 571% compared to the previous year. 67% of these donors are donating for the first time, so this is a win all around.

Additional Blood Store locations are coming to Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, and the United States. So get ready to give blood and get some cool merch. Just don’t give blood if you’re infected with the zombie virus. Oh, wait, we all have it in us, don’t we?
