Truth or Dare: Home Lie Detector Test

Home Lie Detector Test

Who left the door open? Who broke your limited-edition action figure? Who ate the last cookie in the cookie jar? Sure, these are trivial matters, but rules are rules, and honesty is still always the best policy. But if no one’s owning up to the crime, then it’s time to break out the Home Lie Detector test.

Just hook the nifty little gadget to your laptop and snap the sensor onto your subject’s finger. It keeps track of the person’s pulse, which will most likely speed up when they’re about to tell or are telling a tall tale.

It’s available online for $300.

You want answers? I want the truth. You can’t handle the truth! Find out if your friends did indeed order the Code Red or just whether or not your spouse or teenager is lying with this Home Lie Detector Test. It monitors your subject’s digital pulse and electrical resistance on the skin to measure any changes in response to your questions. You can view the data in real-time on your computer via the USB cord.

It’s the same as a standard polygraph test except not legally binding. Great for getting to the bottom of important matters (like who finished the milk and then put the container back in the fridge totally empty so when I went to the supermarket I did not know we needed more milk and now I have to eat my goddamn cornflakes dry. again.) or as a fun game for parties. Take truth or dare to the next level. Practice to be a criminal mastermind. Endless opportunities to use it on a daily basis.

Texting: the truth serum of the 21st century

The University of Michigan and The New School for Social Research has found that if you want someone to tell you the truth, you should text them. Dispensing with the lie detector for job interviewees, academics found that people gave more honest and detailed answers via SMS than over the phone. The team believes it's due to the lack of time pressure and not having to produce a pleasing answer for your interrogator. If the findings continue to provide similar results, it looks like Steve Wilkos could be replaced with a smartphone.
