Synology has introduced their newest 5-bay NAS server namely the DiskStation DS1517. Built for small and medium business users, this 5-bay NAS server is packed with a 1.7GHz Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-314 quad-core processor, a 2GB DDR3 RAM and five 2.5-/3.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD bays.

Furthermore, the DiskStation DS1517 comes with 2x USB 3.0 ports, 2x eSATA ports, 4x RJ-45 1GbE LAN ports (w/ Link Aggregation/Failover support) and 2x built-in 80mm fans.

Running on DiskStation Manager (DSM) 6.1 OS, the DiskStation DS1517 supports for multiple RAID setups including Synology Hybrid RAID, Basic, JBOD & RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Product Page]

ARCHISITE is preparing to release Thecus’ latest 5-bay NAS server ‘W5810’. Designed especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, this 5-bay NAS server is configured with a 2.0GHz Intel Celeron J1900 quad-core processor, a 4GB DDR3 RAM, a 60GB SSD (Boot Drive) and five 2.5-/3.5-inch SATA3.0/2.0 HDD/SSD bays.

Apart from that, device is equipped with 2x USB 2.0 ports (rear), 3x USB 3.0 ports (1x front, 2x rear), 1x HDMI output port (rear), 2x LAN ports and a 200W power supply. For operating system, the W5810 runs on Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials OS.
