Backers were supposed to get it in February 2015, but a strike at the blending motor supplier’s factory delayed that quite a lot, and the cooler ended up being sold on Amazon for $499 before being shipped to the people that actually helped crowdfund it. That’s just a bit of information, and it shouldn’t affect the way you regard this giveaway, as Coolest is in no way affiliated with this contest.

First of all, it features a high performance blender that you could use for preparing all sorts of cocktails. If you’re intending to drive, though, make sure you don’t add any alcohol to those refreshments. Secondly, it has a built-in Bluetooth speaker with Party Pairing, so that all of the party attendants can get to play their favorite songs, without having to endure other people’s choices endlessly.

Next, Coolest sports a USB charger for keeping all sorts of mobile devices fully charged for when you’ll need them. After all, the smartphones and tablets that you’ll use for streaming music don’t have infinite battery life, now do they?

The LED lid light will help you find whatever bottles you are looking for. On top of that, there is a cooler divider that also doubles as a cutting board for salads or fruits you may want to add to the cocktails. The bottle opener should also come in hand at some point, since you wouldn’t use Coolest exclusively for canned juice. The manufacturer included an accessory deck and a 20V rechargeable Lithium battery that should prove to be very reliable in the long run. Coolest’s ergonomic design and durable materials will ensure that you have this cooler with you for many summers to come.

Crowdfunded Coolest Cooler Redefines Portable Refrigeration

Anyone interested in doing a successful crowdfunding campaign should take a look at Ryan Grepper, as he definitely knows a recipe that works. His Coolest Cooler brings together music, drinks and fun to any outdoor location.

As even Grepper admitted, “Regular coolers are boring, break easily and are a hassle to haul around just to carry the ice. The COOLEST cooler is 60 quarts of AWESOME packed with so much fun you’ll look for excuses to get outside more often.” The Coolest Cooler does indeed want to solve all those problems, and just for fun, has a couple (or rather a dozen) of other functions.

More exactly, the Coolest Cooler includes:

  • 18V battery powered rechargeable blender
  • USB charger
  • LED lid light
  • Gear tie-down
  • Removable waterproof Bluetooth speaker
  • Cooler divider/cutting board
  • Extra wide easy rolling tires
  • Integrated storage for knife and plates
  • Bottle opener

Basically, this is all you could ask for when going to a picnic. There’s everything for preparing food and beverages, as well as for listening to music. Assuming that the battery life is decent, you only need to have a Bluetooth-capable phone with you in order to get the party started.

The crowdfunding campaign for the Coolest Cooler is currently running on Kickstarter, and with 47 more days to go, the inventor of this concept has no doubts about it becoming a mass-produced item. At press time, the project had raised $3,817,276, a whole lot more than the initial $50K goal. Anyone who pledged more than $165 as an early bird or $185 as a regular backer should receive the Coolest Cooler in February 2015.

By the looks of it, the Coolest Cooler crowdfunding campaign might be able to set a new record on Kickstarter, record that is currently hold by the Pebble smartwatch. That is, of course, if people keep backing the project at the same rate as they have until now.
