23 Movie Posters Every Film Geek Needs

Dark Knight Why so Serious Joker Poster

For big film buffs, part of the experience and making it last for as long as possible is getting the right poster to hang on your wall. The options are endless, but we chose what we think are the coolest film posters (with a bit of geek-theme to them) to have, with a blend of old and new to accomodate everyone.

Back to the Future

It’s been over 30 years, and it’s still my personal favorite movie of all-time, and I know I’m not alone in this. It’s available on Amazon, frameless, or in a variety of colors and designs to make it look more impressive.

Fight Club

I’m not a big fan of the movie (I know, I know, I’m dumb), but the marketing, style and social relevance of it after so many years is difficult to ignore. Available on Amazon.

Jaws

The beginning of the summer blockbuster. Some think this is the beginning of the end. I think it’s a movie that’s still great, 40+ years later, and the poster works beautifully. Available on Amazon.

The Dark Knight

The best superhero movie of all time? I actually think Batman Begins is better, but it’s only because the shock factor and script twists are part of what make TDK so great. Available on Amazon.

Indiana Jones – Raiders of the Lost Ark

For a lot of us who were kids back when Indiana Jones was the coolest thing, this is what we wanted to be, which is why this film series holds up so well. Available on Amazon.

Ghostbusters

In a time before remakes and reboots, there was this, and it’s still awesome. Available on Amazon.

Guardians of the Galaxy

The film that proves anything Marvel touch turns to gold in the box office. Or maybe they just make good choices when it comes to the people making their films? Not old enough to be a classic, but it’s oh so good. Available on Amazon.

Deadpool

More Marvel? Why not… Deadpool worked in so many ways, from the movie to the marketing campaign to the post-movie marketing campaign. It might be the reason R-Rated comic book movies become a thing. Available on Amazon.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Episode VII)

Any Star Wars poster is good. I just luv this one a bit more than the rest of ’em. Available on Amazon.

Jurassic Park

The original, the best one, in every possible way. Maybe because it doesn’t have CGI, or not a lot of it. Available on Amazon.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Hands down, the most fun action film I’ve seen in a very long time, and hopefully, a great way to reboot the series. Available on Amazon.

E.T.

Innocent, beautiful, timeless. Available on Amazon.

The Goonies

People are still waiting for the sequel… Meanwhile, the poster can be bought here.

The Terminator

Terminator 2 is a better movie. The Terminator poster is better. Get it on Amazon.

Suicide Squad

I have no idea if the movie is going to be any good. The posters and artwork surrounding the movie are great. Buy it on Amazon.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The books peaked with the sixth one, the Half-Blood Prince. The films got better and better till the very end. Available on Amazon.

The Wizard of Oz

Pure magic, the movie and the poster. Anything else said about this is redundant. Available on Amazon.

The Princess Bride

A chick flick guys love, with a poster that focuses on the more touching part of the film: A grandpa reading his grandchild a book while he’s sick. Available on Amazon.

Inside Out

One of the more clever animated films that’s been released, with a poster that perfectly describes what goes on in our heads. Available on Amazon.

Frozen

I hate musicals, but this one just worked. Available on Amazon.

Godzilla

For those who love the style of the 50’s, nothing embodies it better than a Godzilla poster. Available on Amazon.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

This film has the best opening sequence ever. Yes, even better than ‘Saving Private Ryan’. Available on Amazon.

Alien

If this is considered a horror film, it’s the best one ever made. Available on Amazon.

If Hollywood was making Superhero films back in the good old days of the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, stars like Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Gregory Peck and Clark Gable would be starring in them, and looking quite fantastic on the posters.
