Japan Is Getting A Hello Kitty Bullet Train

Hello Kitty has long been a staple of Japanese… everything. Then at some point, the phenomenon hit America and Hello Kitty invaded our shores. The adorable feline exists on lunch boxes, makeup, toasters, purses, cameras as well as a million other things and now it will decorate a bullet train. Yes, the Hello Kitty Shinkansen bullet train is coming to Japan this summer. Have we reached the Hello Kitty saturation point yet? Not very likely.

This train will operate on the Sanyo Shinkansen line from the Shin-Osaka Station in Osaka to Hakata Station in Fukuoka. The outside of the train will feature a pink and white color scheme, naturally and Hello Kitty’s bow and ribbon will be a part of the design. On the inside, the second carriage of the train will have an interior inspired by Hello Kitty’s world.

Apparently, one carriage will be selling local items and foods to boost the local economy. But why not travel further, sell Hello Kitty items and bring even more money back home? I’m surprised it doesn’t have a conductor dressed as Hello Kitty on board too.

If you are in the area, you’ll soon be able to see this pink blur nearby.
