Huey Lewis said it best with “it’s hip to be square” (or course what else would you expect from a man with his finger on the pulse of culture like Huey, a man who informed us all that “the heart of rock n’ roll is the beat”). Give your iPhone some heart and soul with an 8 Bit Bumper. Designed by Mike Mak, these cases for the iPhone 4/4S and 5 harken back in time when 8 bits was all we had and we were happy to be stuck with you.
Comes in black, white, or pink and protects your phone whether you’re walking on a thin line or climbing Jacob’s ladder. Just remember, you actually don’t need money, don’t need fame but you do need a credit card to ride this train, to pay the $32. If this is it, please let me know.

7500 Pixels in this Sheldon Cooper Pixel Quilt
Check out this amazing Big Bang Theory craft from Candy Coated Quilts. It’s everyone’s favorite TV geek Sheldon Cooper made up of 7500 “pixels” of quilt patches. Each of those pieces of fabric measures 1.5″ square.
She calls this a pixelquilt. You’re probably thinking that it takes a long time to cut and sew this many squares into a quilt. And you’d be correct. This big Sheldon was started in July and only completed six months later in January. Well at least it was finished in time for some cold weather. Bazinga! Bazinga indeed, sir. (hat tip)
Design Your Own Pixel Art Backpack
Can’t find the design you want on a backpack? Create your own with the Uanyi Pixel Art Backpack. This 16.5″ tall x 13.5″ wide x 5″ backpack has a back that is like a cross between Tetris and Lego. Decorate it as you wish in 8-bit style by arranging the silicone pixels on the silicone base. The pixels pieces are actually all “single” ones, so you can make anything, Tetris-style as shown above, or not.
Pix-Up iPad Stand
The Pix-Up is a unique iPad stand from Ninki- UP that looks like a pixelated hand pointer. It has a small shelf in the front so it can hold most any tablet, not just the iPad (there you go Surface fans). You can use the stand on a desk, counter, or even your lap:
Well that’s just some awkward placement but if you can avert your eyes from the sausage, you can see the usefulness. It’s got a cool 8bit retro style too. The Pix-Up will be released in January but is available for pre-order now.
Pixel Cat Shelf
The Pixel Cat Shelf is the purrrfect place to display all of your cat memorabilia. This handmade feline shelf measures about 2 feet tall and it loves cookies (cats like cookies?) While I personally am not sure I’d want a cat shelf, I do like the pixel style which allows for a lot of nooks and crannies to put things on. And by the way, poor “crannies”, this word never gets used solo like “nooks” does, what’s up with that? At $235 each, you’d better really really like cats (or crannies!) to buy this shelf.
