Star Wars Pixels Art By Raul Aguiar

Star Wars Pixels Art by Raul Aguiar

While we’re waiting in between Star Wars films, why not enjoy an alternative look on the series and the characters, like with this incredibly fun looking Star Wars Pixels art?

Raul Aguiar, an artist based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, gives Star Wars (and other pop culture characters) makes Star Wars look a lot more fun and cheerful than it actually is (not that I mind dark and brooding in the right amount).

There is a lot of Game of Thrones on his website, but his best work, in our opinion, has to do with Star Wars creations. It makes us wish someone would make an 8-Bit Star Wars game, with some humoristic twist on it. More than anything, his work reminds me of Sierra’s Space Quest games, probably their finest quest series, and they had a lot of good ones.

Actually, if you do enough digging, there are Star Wars games from the 8-bit era, but these ones by Aguiar do have a modern twist and slickness to them. It might not be one of Disney’s top priorities at the moment, but making a simple game, maybe even for phones and tablets, based on this kind of visual style, could rake them even more money, and we know that above all else, cash makes that giant company tick.

If Star Wars Characters Were Fashion Models

if star wars characters were fashion models

Taking Star Wars characters and outfit designs and turning them into something of a runway show for fashion models isn’t the most obvious of ideas, but that’s when fan art truly fulfill its purpose.

The easiest of transformations comes with Rey, who is played by the stunning Daisy Ridley, so no points for creativity there. But to think of Chewbacca turned into a coat of fur is both ambitious and cruel, and turning droids into Heroic chic like models deserve a few more credits too.

My favorite of the bunch is turning BB-8 into a fully functional dress, although Yoda actually being anything other than a short, old Jedi Master is always interesting to look at. Last thought: I wonder if the Boba Fett model has a Sarlaac waiting for her at the end of the runway. Check out this awesome Star Wars Couture Collection, which was created by the very talented by  Guillermo Meraz.

11 Adorable Star Wars Nursery Prints

Star Wars Art, Personalized Name

One of the best ways to begin the aggressive propaganda of ‘Star Wars’ into your newborn’s life is by decorating his or hers room with cute little Star Wars prints and artwork. The force will be strong with them pretty soon.

Personalized Star Wars Name Print

There’s obviously something special about the personalized name plaques and the similar items for children, although it’s probably more special for the parents. The important thing here isn’t the name, it’s the Star Wars characters. Prices being at $8 and go up the longer the kid’s name is.

Star Wars Art Print

Except for the emperor, who is quite difficult to make endearing to kids, and Han Solo, who just didn’t seem important enough I guess, every major character of the original trilogy is on this very cool print, for kids who love the movies, or have parents that love ’em. It costs $5.

Personalized Star Wars Kids Art

Once again, having the Star Wars character in mini cute mode is a great way to have them fill up your kid’s room with lovable geekiness. These prints also come in a personalized mode, for those who feel like little Jedis. Buy it for $54.

Star Wars Art Prints. Mr. Mrs. Bedroom Wall Decor

While these go perfectly in a nursery for the childish nature of the drawing, it works quite well in the parent’s bedroom as well. The 5×7 inches size costs $18 and the prices go up through $20, $30 and up to $36.

Star Wars Nursery Art Prints

Going with the prominent non-human characters of the Star Wars universe, this set of prints isn’t just about cuteness on the wall, but also about teaching them a little bit about life and how to act in it, for those who don’t want cynicism flowing through them early on. The smallest size cost $56, and it moves up to $70, $75 and $80.

CANVAS Boy Star Wars Nursery Art

A similar version to the previous item, but this one is on Canvas and well, you can see the difference. The 8×10 inches costs $152, with the bigger sizes going up to $198 and $288.

2016 Star Wars Calendar, Nursery Art Print

For the truly dedicated Star Wars fan, every year is a Star Wars year, and every month is about Star Wars, and so the calendar is a perfect way to help your children remember what’s important all the time. The small size costs $59, and moves up to $72 and $79.

Digital Prints, 9 Prints, Star Wars Nursery

A slightly different style, probably more childish and a little bit humorous in execution, with the nine prints costing $9.99

Star Wars Nursery Art Prints

A trio of prints which focuses on Empire characters in the Stormtrooper and Darth Vader, with a nice quote about the force as well. There are plenty of sizes to go with. The smallest one costs $21, and it can go up to $96 if you pick the 13×19 inches.

Baby Girl Star Wars Nursery

While some boys like pink too, it’s rare to find parents buying a boy this item, which is a guestbook to be hung in the nursery, with a nice little womanized R2-D2. Buy it for $12.

AT-AT Baby Walker Toddler

Babies during their first attempts at walking and AT-ATs perform pretty much the same. Clumsily, awkwardly, but they keep moving forward, and when they fall, it’s really slow, but always ends in a big crash. Buy the 4 picture set for $19.95 in the 5×7 inches size. The 8×10 canvas version costs $149.95, and the 12×18 prints cost $99.95.

It’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan. Not just the movies, but the amount of wonderful items coming at you from every direction. If your kitchen still hasn’t been converted, check the Star Wars Gadgets every Galaxy must have.

Star Wars fan 3D prints the Millennium Falcon

Millenium Falcon 3

Star Wars is more alive than ever, and all kinds of creations keep pouring out of nowhere. The latest of these we’ve seen is a 3D printed Millennium Falcon.

A lot of productions and fan creations have been coming up and about across the Internet in what we like to call “The Year of Star Wars”, thanks to the many official productions that are renewing the interest in this classic series. And while the official productions (such as Star Wars: Battlefront for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, or the next movie in the series, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens) are all looking wonderful and great, it’s the fan reactions and creations what gives you a real scope on just how much this matters to the geek world. A fantastic example of this is the 3D Printed Millennium Falcon that we’re sharing with you today.

Andrew Askendall, who goes by just Askendall at Thingiverse has uploaded plans and pictures of his recently created 3D Printed Millenium Falcon, a fantastic recreation of Han Solo and Chewie’s iconic spaceship, the same one that debuted in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, titled simply Star Wars way back when it first released. What’s more, Askendall hasn’t just uploaded pictures of his creation, but also plans so people at home with their own 3D printers can recreate their own. Who knows, maybe we could all show up to movie theaters across the globe carrying one of these to show our love for the saga? We for one will be doing that.

In order to recreate this aaskedal just used Makerbot Desktop to slice it, and it’s a particularly clever design that doesn’t even need an external support to stay in place, as there’s room for the landing gear in a little angle in the back, where they build up from. We are glad for that, because this looks like it would look awesome when displayed, but we are not so sure if we could hang it as it looks just too heavy. Other than that, this is an incredible piece with a lot of care and thought put into it, and you can tell by all of the details covering the ship’s body, with exhaust pipes and other features taken straight from the movies. We would say this looks even better than most official recreations, save the collectible ones. And hey, you can also pick the color.

The plans for this baby can be downloaded for free at Thingiverse (who specialize in this type of thing anyways, so it might be a good idea to browse there for more geeky stuff), and they are completely free, so if you needed plans for the weekend and already have 3D printing materials and software at home, we are sure you will know what to do. Meanwhile, we will be here sharing whichever other cool creations we find with you.
