This Guy Serves and Slices Fruit with a Custom Air Cannon

Wanna serve some sliced fruit to your neighbors from your own yard? That’s what Ben Cusick aka NighthawkInLight did with this awesome air cannon. He built a custom end for the weapon which has slicing blades, so you can shoot fruit all day long and serve it up sliced to perfection. This gun will put fruit ninjas out of business.

It can accept several different slicing blades for different sized fruit bullets too. He demonstrates how to build the specialty barrel for his custom high power air cannon in the video below:

It looks like a pretty easy build if you have even a little experience building things, but be careful, this could really hurt someone. After all, you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

This Is One NERF Dart You Wouldn’t Want to Be Hit by

The thing about NERF darts is, they’re designed to be safe. You can unload them on friends without having to worry about any serious injury, but what happens when you fire a NERF dart from an air cannon? Let’s just say you will want to get the hell out of the way!

On the latest episode of his NERF Experiments series, Giaco Whatever loaded up an air cannon he built with NERF darts, and let them rip. They’re so fast, you can’t see them with your naked eye, so he captured slow motion footage to find out just how fast the NERF darts were traveling from the cannon.

It turns out that the dart flies along at about Mach 2.3, which is 2.3 times the speed of sound. And that means that the dart is wayyy more dangerous than when it’s fired from an ordinary NERF gun.

Yes, it took a nice chunk out of that block of wood. Clearly you don’t want to be in the path of this thing. If you don’t believe me, check this out:

Giant Fire-Breathing Vortex Cannon: I Fell into a Burnin’ Ring of Fire

Everything is always better with fire! That includes air cannons. Bigger is always better too. It’s not just a Texas thing. It’s a fact. That’s why Kevin Kohler, aka “The Backyard Scientist,” took one of those vortex air cannon toys and not just made it bigger, he added pyrotechnics.

He built a vortex air cannon ten times larger than normal out of a trash can. Once he got that working, he added propane to the mix, and used it to blast rings of the flammable gas towards an open flame. This creates awesome flying rings of fire.

Yeah, that’s all it does and that’s okay, because rings of fire are cool! I mean hot! On a safety note, you should never have a torch burning right next to a propane tank. Or do anything shown in this video, for that matter.
