Super Bowl LI Viewers to Consume a Disgusting Amount of Chicken Wings

If you are a football fan you know that Super Bowl LI (that’s 51 for those of you who don’t speak Roman) is coming in 10 days, and many fans are already preparing for their parties. One of the most popular foods to eat during the big game are chicken wings. The National Chicken Council has dropped some facts that shed some light on just how many flats and drumettes will be gnashed on during the big game.

According to the council, enough wings will be eaten that if placed end to end they would circle the Earth nearly three times. Dang. A total of 1.33 billion wings are expected to be consumed. That number of wings would stretch from Gillette Stadium in Mass to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta nearly 80 times.

All those wings would weigh 166.25 million pounds, or about 338 times more than the combined weight of all 32 NFL teams. If you took one of those big ol’ linemen and fed him two wings per minute, it would take a single man over 1,265 years to eat all 1.33 billion wings.
