As the risk of flooding increases with environmental change, so does the potential for human disaster. Unfortunately, those currently at risk must rely on predicted data rather than real-time information. The Flood Beacon aims to address this issue by detecting water surges and issuing widespread alerts to not only the appropriate rescue teams but the general public via mobile phone notifications.
