Verizon’s blue HTC One trickling out to Best Buy stores starting today

Verizon's blue HTC One trickling out to Best Buy stores starting today

See that? It's an HTC One, programmed for use on Verizon's airwaves, and it's blue. Moreover, it's at Best Buy, and if you're lucky, you'll be able to pick one up yourself as early as tonight. If you'll recall, we had heard that Sprint was aiming to ship the aforesaid device on September 10th, but according to our tipster, these are hitting backrooms as we speak. Full retail is pegged at $699.99, but you can bet that a variety of contractual options will be available, too.

Update: Another stellar tipster has provided us with a photo of the phone's front, which you'll find after the break. Additionally, we're told that the back of the blue HTC One is one full piece of metal, with painted accent stripes. Maybe you'll head to a Verizon store this weekend and check it out for yourself.

HTC One and One Mini ‘vivid blue’ hands-on (updated)

HTC One and One Mini vivid blue handson

HTC's designers may soon be more famous for their expense accounts than their designs, but that shouldn't detract from their latest color-picking masterpiece. We've been playing with the vivid blue HTC One and One Mini and have to admit, it's a tough choice deciding between this and the glamour red version we saw in July. While we were there, we also asked if the company would be introducing a Mini version of the One in red, but that's not yet confirmed. HTC is looking to hawk this as a carrier or retailer exclusive in various territories, with the official line being that it'll land in "select markets" from Q4 -- but we're reasonably sure that Sprint's got this one locked up for September. Keen-eyed readers will notice in the gallery below that the highlight colors are darker on the One than on the Mini, but that's the only difference between this and the original vintage.

Update: While there's nothing official to emerge from the US just yet, we do have official confirmation that both the HTC One and One Mini in "vivid blue" will be sold through the Carphone Warehouse in the UK. The flagship can be had on plans starting at £33, while the smaller model is available from £26 a month.

Sprint will Get Blue HTC One on September 10th

Many images of a blue HTC One are already leaked in past days. All these images and other leaks points towards the launch of HTC One Blue via Verizon. But we have a new carrier hint now. PhoneArena...

Sprint roadmap hints at blue HTC One launch on September 10th

Image

The folks over at PhoneArena have gotten their hands on a shot of a Sprint roadmap that'll excite fans of Mark Rothko's "Blue" period. The document claims that we'll see HTC's azure-hued version of the One arrive on the big yellow network on September 10th. Which is nice, because as far as we know, that's looking like it'll be a slow news day.

Blue HTC One shell gets snapped in the non-flesh (updated)

Blue HTC One shell gets snapped in the nonflesh

Press renders? Pah. Now we've seen snaps of the forthcoming blue HTC One in some of its metallic glory. The shell, which was reportedly snapped by a worker who works for a factory contracted to make parts for HTC's smartphones, seems to confirm that the company is cooking up an azure edition of its flagship handset. While we're not sure if this will single-handedly restore HTC's fortunes, at least there's a built-in market for fans of Eiffel 65, ELO and the bad guys from Firefly.

Update: Yet another HTC One in blue has been spotted out in the wild and the folks over at Mobile01 have got the pictures. We've tucked one after the break for you to take a look at, too.

HTC One Sees Red at Sprint

I’m a big fan of the HTC One. It’s one of the best Android smartphones made to date, combining an awesome display, great camera, a fast CPU and GPU, and excellent build quality. But if you buy one, you’ve been able to get it in bare aluminum (or a hard to find black). Now, thanks to a deal with Sprint, the HTC One is now available in a lovely shade of red.

And they haven’t just painted the case red or snapped on a plastic back. This is still an all metal case, just like the original HTC One. Sprint is offering the exclusive new Red HTC One at this link for $199.99(USD) - and if you buy one by August 29th, you’ll get a second HTC One free. Naturally, the deal assumes you’ll sign up for a two-year phone contract for each device.

If red isn’t your thing, rumor has it that Verizon will be outing an exclusive blue version by the end of the month as well.

Rumor Mill: More HTC One Mini Photos Leaked

HTC One Mini

We’re a month closer to the rumored release of the HTC Mini One this August. While HTC hasn’t made any official announcement yet (and it doesn’t look like they’re about to anytime soon), the leaks just keep on coming. Late last month, specs about the HTC Mini One’s screen resolution was leaked online. A few days before that, a few sources led speculation to an August release date.

This time around, we don’t have much specs-wise, but we do have a couple of images of the rumored smartphone. It’s the smaller, budget-friendly version of the highly-popular HTC One, which many reviewers found to be better than Samsung’s Galaxy S4.

HTC One Mini1

As a quick refresher, the HTC One Mini is rumored to have a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and come equipped with a quad core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.
