A Swan Ladle Is The Best Kind Of Ladle

You guys might remember the furiously popular Nessie Ladle from back in 2015. It was so popular, it spawned spinoff products like the Nessie Tea Infuser and the Mama Nessie Colander. While cool, all these products were based off the “Loch Ness Monster” concept but now the designers, Ototo, are back with a new twist. It’s called The Swanky and its claim to fame is that it floats on top of your soup pot. So the same ladle with which you’ll scoop out soup with will also float on top of it, looking graceful and elegant and somewhat reminiscent of a swan. It’s kind of cool, though we’re not sure it has the same appeal as the Nessie line of products. Still, the Kickstarter is fully funded and a $17 pledge will get you your own, so there’s definitely some interest out there.

Updated: Nessie Ladle Now Available In Multiple Colors

You guys might remember the Nessie Ladle we wrote about in January. It was an awesome soup ladle that, when submerged in a pot of soup, would look like what we all imagine the Loch Ness Monster looks like. Well now you can purchase them in new colors, green and purple, in addition to the original turquoise. They’re made out of toughened Nylon, designed by OTOTO, and cost all of $16. Loch Ness Monster Ladle

The Loch Ness Monster is real. Really in your soup that is. Whether you believe in Nessie or not, you can get into the spirit of the Scottish Highlands with the Nessie Ladle. With it’s long neck it peeks out of your soup pot, glaring at you with those mythologically accurate eyes (a paradox some might say but who doth sayeth that let ye rest thy mouth foreveth more. or something like that. eth.) What is that in my soup anyway, this tastes funny.

A functionally neat aspect of this soup ladle is that it actually has 4 legs (unlike the real Nessie which clearly has no legs. clearly) so it can stand up either in your soup or on your counter. Or anywhere else you’d stash a ladle.

The Nessie Ladle is made of plastic and measures 10.43″ x 4.33″ x 3.54″. That’s pretty precise.
