Cell Phone Screen Magnifier

Get a close look at this 14 inch screen magnifier that uhmm well.. magnifies your screen. Because with it you won’t need to get a close look at your phone because your screen will be…magnified. The, as Amazon calls it “14 inch Screen Magnifier for Cell Phone, Phone Screen Magnifier, 2022 Upgraded Version Screen Amplifier, Mobile Phone Magnifying Screen, Foldable Smartphone Screen Magnifier” (we’ll just go with screen magnifier for everyone’s sanity here), uses simple optics to make your smartphone’s image the size of an iPad.

Just place your phone in the back, slide out the screen and flip it up. Make sure to pop the legs out because legs are important for both humans and machines apparently. Now you’re basically at an iMax movie (if you stand really close and cough up $20 on your way into the room). It’s a simple design and the fact that it folds flat makes it easy to travel with. You can also use it as a stand for your phone without the screen. Not sure why you’d want to do this, but you could. It has a universal fit for most smartphones.

How big is it? Did you miss the chart above? Scroll up cause we ain’t typing out the numbers today. The manufacturer recommends sitting about 3-6 feet away. However this still might be a great gadget to bring on planes and sit it on the tray table. You don’t want to eat those dry cookies anyway. Great for seniors and kids too. Overall it seems like a pretty good deal for the price, just a simple gadget that does what it says and nothing more, nothing less.

Foldscope Is a 140x Microscope That Fits in Your Pocket

There is a whole universe that we can only see through a microscope. But high powered microscopes are cumbersome and often quite expensive. The Foldscope can help you check out the microscopic world and goes anywhere.

You punch out the microscope from a sheet of paper, and it has a lens that delivers 140X magnification, which is enough for “imaging live individual cells, cellular organelles, embryos, swimming bacteria and much more.”

The Foldscope is not new. It has been around for about 5 years, but started out as a project for teaching in developing countries. While the Foldscope itself costs a little more than dollar, it’s being sold to individuals as a scientific kit including slides, Petri dishes, strainers, pipettes, tweezers, an LED light source and more. Schools and teachers can pick up sets that include 20 or more individual Foldscopes if they want to pass them out to their classes.

You can get the individual set for a pledge of $20 over on Kickstarter, while teachers can get sets of 20 Foldscopes (just the sheets, lenses, and carrying pouches) for $30. This is great for anyone who has an interest in science.

CKIE Product of the Week – Magnifier Cup Holder Clip

I’d like to call this the Cup Clip for little people and big studs! Its handy, clever and quite cool in design – The Magnifier Cup Holder Clip actually fits in various-sized containers including milk bottles, juice boxes and baby learning cups. It sits pretty, clipped on to the side of the table and decorates your table while keeping up the tidiness.

The cup holder clip can be fixed on your baby car, baby eating chair or any table easily. The rubber ring holds different sized cup and bottle firmly. My guess is that the YD office should get a couple of them soon, given how much coffee and Coke keeps going around here!
