It Has Come to This: The Couch Coaster

Since America is not nearly fat enough, the Couch Coaster is here to make sure that you are never far from a sugary drink or a beer. It is basically nothing more than a piece of molded silicone with weighted arms that hangs over the sides of an armrest to give you another place to rest your drink.

It also sports a cutout in the back to accommodate coffee mug handles. What it won’t do is to help your existing furniture accommodate your ever-larger love handles.

God forbid that we ever sit anywhere that can’t hold a drink for us. Seriously, we are one step away from becoming those fat helpless blobs in Wall-E. Or maybe I should say $20 away, which is what this thing costs.

Star Trek Delta Logo Auto Coasters Boldly Protect Cup Holders

I’m not a big user of coasters in the house because I think they are pretty dumb. In the car, I feel a bit differently. It always seems the condensation from my ocean of soda in the morning runs down the side of the cup and ends up making some sort of unremovable paste in the cup holder of my car.

These Star Trek themed auto coasters can help you not end up with that super hard mess in your cup holders.

They have the famous delta logo on them and you get a pair in case you have two spots for cups.

These aren’t the fancy thirsty stone sorts that absorb that condensation, but at least you get the Star Trek logo. The coasters are made from PVC, so you can easily cut them to fit your car. The pair will cost you $9.99 at ThinkGeek.

CKIE Product of the Week – Magnifier Cup Holder Clip

I’d like to call this the Cup Clip for little people and big studs! Its handy, clever and quite cool in design – The Magnifier Cup Holder Clip actually fits in various-sized containers including milk bottles, juice boxes and baby learning cups. It sits pretty, clipped on to the side of the table and decorates your table while keeping up the tidiness.

The cup holder clip can be fixed on your baby car, baby eating chair or any table easily. The rubber ring holds different sized cup and bottle firmly. My guess is that the YD office should get a couple of them soon, given how much coffee and Coke keeps going around here!

This Cup Doesn’t Fly

I love the convenience of a disposable cup, but sometimes you get handed a very shoddy one that tipples over at the slightest breeze. In fact recently at this out door restaurant, they served us our dinks in paper cups and just as I was half way through, the glass blew out with the wind, spilling the drink on the table. If it had the weighted option of the Cup Ring, then I guess no wind or accidental touch would dare to tip it over. So in way, though its not rocket science, Cup Ring is a practical solution to a very plausible problem.
