Mushkin is bringing you their newest line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs namely the Reactor Armor 3D. Available in three different storage capacities: 240GB, 480GB and 960GB, these slim 2.5-inch SSDs (7mm thick) are packed with 3D MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a Silicon Motion SM2258 controller, TRIM support, SMART support, LDPC ECC support and an MTBF of 1.5 million hours.

Performance-wise, the Reactor Armor 3D SSDs promise to deliver read and write speeds of up to 565MB/s and 300MB/s (240GB model), 565MB/s and 500MB/s (480GB model) and 565MB/s and 510MB/s (960GB model), respectively. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Product Page]

Mushkin hits back with a new line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs, the ECO2. Coming in 60GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB sizes, these slim 2.5-inch SSDs (7mm thick) are packed with high-reliability MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a SandForce SF-2200 controller, a MTBF of 2 million hours, TRIM support, SMART support and up to 32,000 IOPS (4k random write).

Performance-wise, the ECO2 can deliver read/write speeds of up to 550/515 MB/s (60GB model), 550/530 MB/s (120GB & 240GB models) and 550/485 MB/s (480GB model), respectively.

Coming in capacities ranging from 100GB to 400GB, these SSDs are equipped with either eMLC or MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a SandForce SF-2582 controller, a MTBF of 2 million hours and can deliver read/write speeds of up to 555/525 MB/s (100GB), 560/530 MB/s (200GB), 540/460 MB/s (300GB & 400GB), respectively. While Mushkin tipped its hand early regarding details of its "world's first" 480GB mSATA SSD, it did keep one thing back for CES. It's launching what it promises is a SandForce-packing, "next generation" USB 3.0 drive that will have read and write speeds of over 300 MB per second. The company is keeping the specifics about its performance, its pricing, availability and even its casing a secret for now, but we've gotten in touch and will update this when we learn more.

Today, component maker Mushkin announced plans to ship the "world's first" 480GB mSATA solid-state drive. Priced at a respectable $500, the made-in-the-USA Atlas SSD is expected to ship beginning in early January, and features a SandForce SF-2281 controller with an unthrottled IOPS, a SATA III (6Gb/s) interface and a three-year warranty. At a little over $1 per gigabyte, ultrabook power users looking to push their storage capacity beyond its current 256GB boundary may want to keep an eye out for this burly option in the coming weeks.
