Here comes a new line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs from OCZ, the VX500. Available in four different storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, these 2.5-inch SSDs are built with Toshiba 15nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and a Toshiba TC358790 controller.

In terms of performance, the VX500 SSDs promise to deliver read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 485MB/s (128GB model), 550MB/s and 510MB/s (256GB model), 550MB/s and 515MB/s (512GB model) and 550MB/s and 515MB/s (1TB model), respectively.

Specs-wise, this slim 2.5-inch SSD (6.8mm thick) is built with TLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a SiliconMotion SM2256KAB controller, TRIM support, SMART support and NCQ support.

Implementing the LDPC codes for extending the product life in wear leveling and corresponding to the SATA DevSleep mode for reducing power consumption than the conventional power-saving mode (up to 90% cut of power consumption), the 960GB SSD220 promises to deliver read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 450MB/s, respectively.
