Corny Harry Potter Valentines

Corny Harry Potter Valentines
In honor of Valentine’s Day, here’s a collection of Harry Potter themed Valentine’s cards. No there is nothing wrong with your screen: the Photoshop job on these suckers doesn’t just appear to be super shitty, it actually is. But I really appreciate the effort, I do. Now let me give it a try. Okay, uh… [...]

Because Flowers are Overrated: Plush Unicorn Bouquet

Plush Unicorn Bouquet

You’re either a cat lady or a unicorn lover. For the former, there’s the bouquet of plush kittens. For the latter, there’s this plush unicorn bouquet. It’s a lot like the plush kitten bouquet, only instead of kittens, you get unicorns. It makes sense for kittens to come in nines (like they do in the kitten bouquet), with them having nine lives and all.

But unicorns live far longer than that, so you get not nine but a total of eleven unicorns in white, purple, and cyan. Did that make sense? Probably not, but the important thing is that you get more unicorns for your buck.

Plush Unicorn Bouquet1

The Plush Unicorn Bouquet ships in a box and comes in beautiful wrapping. Roses die, carnations wilt, but plush unicorns will live forever. Each bouquet is priced at $50.

Cheesy Batman Valentines From the Past

Batman Valentines

Batman is the epitome of cool when it comes to superheroes. He’s rich, good-looking, and he’s got the coolest set of wheels and weapons at his disposal. But back in the day, he also happened to be featured in the cheesiest of Valentines. Corny quotes and one-liners with a (seemingly) forced lovey-dovey twist, it seems like this gallery has it all.

Check it out after the jump.

His and Hers: Star Wars Han and Leia Hand Towels

Star Wars Han and Leia Bathroom Hand Towels

There’s nothing like love that transcends borders. Kind of like the one Princess Leia and Han Solo share. Back in 2005, Lucas confirmed that Leia and Han did, indeed, live happily ever after. That’s something everyone already assumed, but still, it was nice to get confirmation. Now you can be reminded of that fact every day with these Han and Leia Hand Towels that’ll add a little extra something in your bathroom.

These soft towels have silhouettes of Leia and Han on one side and the Rebel Alliance insignia on the other side. It isn’t complete without the Star Wars logo, so you’ll find that in the corner. You’ve always said it with roses; why not declare your love with towels this year?

Star Wars Han and Leia Bathroom Hand Towels1

The Han and Leia Hand Towels are officially-licensed Star Wars merchandise and are available online for $19.99.

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide: A Perfect Present for Your Kinda Girl

Valentine's Gift

It’s less than a week before Valentine’s–that dreadful day where it seems like there’s no pleasing your suddenly over-expectant girlfriend. There’s only one thing to do if she’s been bitten by the Valentine bug: give her a night to remember and a present she’ll treasure forever. Or until next year, that is, when you’ll have to do it all over again.

We’re well aware of the fact that every girl’s different, and that one woman’s treasure might be less of a gem in the eyes of another. With that in mind, we put this last-minute Valentine’s day gift guide together to give you a little nudge in the right direction so you can find the perfect present for your kinda girl.

For the Fashionista

R2D2 Black Milk Dress

Artoo Dress ($134) or Artoo 2.0 Dress ($134)

Who doesn’t love R2D2? He’s as expressive as robots can get and he’s easily every girl’s favorite character from Star Wars. Not only does tbe Artoo or Artoo 2.0 dress from Black Milk Clothing make the android shine, but it’ll also let your girl flaunt her curves with its bodycon fit. If bots aren’t her thing, then maybe some of these other dresses from BMC’s line-up might be more up her alley.

For the Workaholic

Chalkboard Calendar

Chalkboard Wall Calendar Vinyl Decal ($64)

There’s no sense in trying to change a workaholic’s spots. What you can do instead is give her the tools she needs to set her schedule and manage her time better, like the chalkboard wall calendar vinyl decal that lets her write down important events she needs to remember on the relevant date on the calendar. It works with chalk and chalk ink pens, in case she wants to avoid the mess.

For the Fitness Buff

Compression Socks

Sheer Floral Knee High ($37.99) or Classic Checker Knee High ($14.99)

People sustain all sorts of injuries when they exercise. I’m sure your girl probably already has a few pairs of compression stockings in her closet since she’s a huge fitness buff and all, but hey, a girl can’t have too many pairs, right? The sheer floral knee highs will give her that sexy oomph, while the classic checkered ones will give her a preppy vibe. If neither are her style, then check out other compression stockings for workouts here instead.

For the Music Lover

Ear Ear Buds

Ear Buddies Ear Buds ($12.95)

These quirky ear buds will give people the impression that your girl has some sort of weird earception thing going on in her lobes. Earception–an ear within an ear, get it? Staying true to their appearance, these ear buds offer great sound while providing a comfortable fit and are compatible with any device that has a 3.5mm jack.

For the Foodie

Sesame Street Cookie Cutters

Sesame Street Sandwich Cookie Cutters ($5.99)

Give your girl a gift that gives back to you: cookie cutters. Sesame Street seems like a safe choice, since a whole generation of us probably watched the show growing up. If she’s not into the gang, then you can easily find other equally geeky cookie cutters online, like these Angry Birds or Meme Cookie Cutters. She’s happy, you’ll be happy that she’s happy, and your stomach will thank you for it.

Have Yourself a Cheesy Valentine’s With Some Cheeseburger Red Wine

Cheeseburger Wibne

What’s wrong with having cheeseburgers on your Valentine’s date this year? Times are tough and fancy dinners are out of the question in this bad economy, especially if you’re already holding down two jobs to make ends meet. But while you can do away with the five-course meal, don’t do away with the wine, because a good nightcap sometimes makes all the difference.

There’s only one drink you can turn to after a meal of cheeseburgers, and that’s Rootstock Cellars‘ Cheeseburger Red wine. Its flavor was designed to complement a post-burger palate and is described as “smooth and jammy, bursting with red fruit that so perfectly compliment a slight char.”

Each bottle is priced at $12.99.

Spread the Love: A Family Valentine’s With the Tree of Love

Family Tree1

Valentine’s is a day for couples. When you go out on February the fourteenth, you don’t see couples strolling around the park with their kids in tow; it’s usually a day that’s reserved for man and wife (or man and girlfriend) only. But why not do something different this Valentine’s and mark off the evening by doing something out-of-the-ordinary with your entire family?

A nice, not-so-quiet dinner with the gang, followed by a movie or some board games sounds ideal. Then, of course, comes the matter of gifts. I doubt kids will appreciate getting a couple red roses each, so why not splurge on something that the whole family can use and appreciate, like a family tree?

Family Tree3

I’d like to call it the Tree of Love. It’s a fun way to get the family together and you’ll be able to trace connections between the people who matter the most, from then until now. You could get your own or buy a ready-made family tree frame, like the one you see above, where all you have to do is insert your pictures. Better yet, you could buy some aluminum, twine, and crafts materials and make your own instead.

It doesn’t have to be an elaborately cheesy day, but at least it’s something the whole family can look forward to. Of course, you don’t have to do a family Valentine’s every year; just every other year or until your kids get their own girlfriends or boyfriends so they won’t have a very lonesome Valentine’s, just because they’re single.

The Family Tree frame is available online at Personal Creations for $49.99, along with a bunch of other family-centric personalized gifts.
