Hybrid Hot Stuff

hyperlight_car_layout

I’m a fan of Lee Rosario’s imaginative work and this design, dubbed Hyperlight, is no exception. Believe it or not, this latest wild automotive concept is visually less extreme than his others. Fluid yet sharp, the design sees a single driver in a cockpit centered around a “living and breathing” shell with an advanced self-healing skin that automatically repairs small dings and dents. I won’t spoil the fun by making any comparisons to what it looks like. Rather, let us know what you think in the comments!

Beyond Amphibious

tauro_00

When we think of the term “crossover”, we don’t usually imagine it like this! The Hyperlight Aeros is a next generation autonomous amphibious passenger vehicle concept completely unrestricted by sea level or altitude! It goes beyond amphibeous, taking passenger from underwater to in the air in seconds.

This autonomous hybrid aviation rotorcraft/submersible watercraft design provides a truly unique traveling experience. A dual stage rear mounted Rolls Royce Hybrid Electric Jet powerplant with stabilizing front fan blade enclosures sends it soaring quietly above the clouds or gliding gracefully below the waves. Thrust is provided by a rear exhaust jet powered from the same engine. The “blowhole” arrays can also serve to stabilize and regulate water intake during submersible operation.

Inside, the cabin is fully pressurized and entirely water resistant. Even though it lacks windows, the Aeros projects the outside surroundings into the cabin’s encompassing plasma screen via a sophisticated environmental camera system.

SPECS:
– Maximum Cruising Altitude: 20,000ft
– Maximum Operating depth below water: 20ft
– Maximum Cruising Speed above water: 250knots
– Powerplant: (2) Rolls Royce ER-5 (Type 1) Electric Fan Jets. (1) powering the rear blow jets (1) powering the front fenestron.
– Maximum Passenger Capacity: 3 full sized adults plus luggage.

Va-va-vroom! I think I’m in love.

tauro_hypercar_layout

I have had an obsession with automotive design since I was a kid and loved imagining what the future held in terms of wild new cars. Looking at the Tauro concept, I feel like it’s all of my childhood automotive daydreams wrapped up into one mean-looking machine!

Named Tauro (Catalan for Shark), its aggressive styling takes inspiration from the shark. However, this autonomous electric hypercar is as much a technological exploration as a visual one. It features cool, new elements including an aerodynamically-optimized, self-healing “shark skin” that melds back together if a ding happens, a magnetic traction system that works in tandem with specialized roads to enhance grip, and recharging system that harnesses wind, solar, and kinetic energy.

Despite its low-slung look with a relatively short wheelbase, it’s got a big fat footprint that feels ultra-wide and adds to its grip and aesthetic aggressiveness. For me, I see a little bit of Lambo Diablo and Ford Indigo in the design language, but for you it might be something different… and that’s precisely its appeal. Still, it’s something entirely original. I only wish it were the real deal!

A Quieter, Greener Way to Fly

adjet_00

The electric plane is a steeper challenge than the electric car, but we can still dream! The AJet-100 is a look at what we might expect from future e-jets. Like its grounded counterparts, it will have major improvements in noise, operating costs, as well as a reduction in burning fossil fuels and emissions. Aside from its more muscular structure, it’s not immediately distinguishable from other jets of comparable size. However, its autonomous tech and entertainment features like a “glass bottom” screen floor make it entirely different.

Features:

  • (2) RR high output electric engines powered by a variation of advanced solar and lithium battery technologies
  • Projection technologies used to project real-time outside video or preloaded video into fuselage floor
  • Advanced aerodynamic design for improved battery efficiency
  • AI autopilot flight technology with capabilities for total GPS guided flight from takeoff to landing
  • Various configurations depending on client needs and intended service use
  • Hybrid engine options to switch between traditional fuel and electric power

An entirely new car class?

solair_01

Why choose when you can have it all?! The modular Vultran Solair is the answer to those who love going off road as much as cruising down the highway with the wind through their hair.

The primary design is inspired by vintage classics such as the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette and the 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C3. The body consists of a highly flexible and impact resistant 3D printed carbon composite interchangeable shell which can be quickly and inexpensively swapped out for new looks and functions. As new shells are designed and released, drivers will have an ever-evolving selection of options to choose from. As for the inside, the Solair’s 3 seat configuration is idea for those who enjoy extreme sport and off road driving with a familiar love for convertibles and buggies.

With a carbon composite unibody design and open air architecture, the Solair aims to provide a unique experience while cutting down drastically on construction materials, manufacturing time, and weight… all while offering complete customization. Another cool feature is the “skin” of the Solair which is a built-in network of ultra-thin and highly refined “nanoanttena” solar spiral conductors that harness solar radiation during the day as well as residual infrared energy at night, allowing solar charging to occur literally around the clock.

OTHER FEATURES:
-Sport and Off-road configurations
-Polyflex reinforced carbon fibre impact cage combined with compact airbag and restraint system
-Impact and scratch resistant swappable shell can be replaced quickly and inexpensively
-Artificial Intelligence CPU handles autonomous drive modes, real time communications and augmented reality windshield display
-Modular “Open Architecture” design allows easy parts replacement and continuous customization without having to buy a new vehicle every few years
-2 high performance AC indiction motors drive the front and rear axles independently.
-Ultrasonic forcefield replaces the need for windshield wipers and helps redirect air over the body and away from the driver and passengers.
-Simplistic yet elegant interior design is also extremely weather resistant for a number of off roading excursions and
-Turbine LED rims help redirect airflow into the wheel to cool breaks and redirect air into the cabin
-Removable wheel covers transform your car from a sport super car to an off road machine
-Augmented reality windshield eliminates the need for a standard dashboard displays
-AR Windshield displays all standard and important information from environmental hazards to vehicle updates
