Mayank Joshi:

Torture is widely practised worldwide for prevention, questioning and punishment but in ancient time the techniques and devices were truly terrifying to behold. These cruel instruments were used right through history to penalize persistent offenders. These days’ human rights commissions play an active role in making the process more humane but think of those people in the medieval ages who committed a crime and were brutally punished for their act by means of some cruel devices. So here are some of these devices that will scare hell out you…..

Care to take a walk down memory lane by way of the information superhighway? Good, because 21st century digital natives and Luddites alike could stand to benefit from some virtual navel-gazing. In what's essentially a 'look at how far we've come' exhibit, My Life Scoop, Intel's "connected lifestyle" site, has a collection of the more notable experiments that've sprung from our surprising interactions with the internet. Starting from the dial-up days of the mid-90's and working up to the near present, curious users can peep the wacky ways we've used the web as a tool, ranging from a remote community gardening project (The Telegarden) to a stock index that auto-adjusts dress hemlines (Stock Market Skirt) to an interactive, Arcade Fire-soundtracked film made to showcase Google Chrome (The Wilderness Downtown). But don't let us just tell you about these visual delights. Strap on those culture hats and meander through the finer artistic points of our shared online evolution at the source below.

LG Optimus LTE is not the Only LTE Devices by LG

Just to refresh your mind, LG first launched the Optimus LTE in October 2011 in Korea, but now the world’s first HD LTE smartphone is currently available in more countries including America, Canada, and Japan. I don’t know how success it is in comparison with Samsung Galaxy S in term of sales (not specs), but according to the company, Optimus LTE had exceeded over one million units in Late January (or in the first three months).

If you want to enter and join the emerging LTE era, now the Optimus LTE is not the only LG’s device you can have. At MWC 2012, LG introduced a new LTE-capable smatrphone — the Optimus VU. But I can’t say that the origin Optimus LTE is already obsolete, as the Optimus VU still in the process to hit the shelves. Optimus VU just says hello in Korea this month, and I think it needs an extra time to poke its fans in America, United Kingdom, and the rest of the world. Is your country ready for the LTE network? I hope yes.

LG Optimus VU

Before talking more about Optimus VU, lets take a look at the Optimus LTE‘s technical specification so we will know the difference. Powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS platform, the Optimus LTE features a 4.5-inch 1280 x 720 (16:9 ratio) True HD IPS display, a 1,830 mAh battery, 8MP camera and multiple connectivity options, including HDMI and DLNA.

Ok now we have the base to see the difference. Featuring a 5-inch IPS display, the LG Optimus VU is designed to combine the tablet-like viewing with smartphone portability. But in VU, the display bringing a 4:3 aspect ratio instead of 16:9 to make viewing documents, books, internet and multimedia contents easier and more comfortable. VU’s display is 0.3-inch smaller than Galaxy Note‘s display, but I think the ideas is similar, right? Remember the Galaxy Note‘s tag line? “Phone? Tablet? It’s a Note!” [ Ads: Buy Galaxy Note at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk ]

Regarding power house, the Optimus VU running on the same powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 32GM internal memory, and 1GB DDR2 and a 2,080 mAh battery. See? It comes with larger battery to back its larger display up. That’s all.

Ok I know that you need to wait some times to locate the Optimus VU in stores near you, in the meantime you can get the LG Optimus LTE from AT&T. If both devices are not your style, you can find your favourite 4G smartphone at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk
