Are you old enough to remember ColecoVision? If you are, there’s a chance that playing retro games also tickles your cockles in a way that very few of the modern games do. We don’t know whether it’s the ingenious simplicity of a 2-D sidescroller, or the melancholic throwback to your youth that makes these games attractive, but Coleco is certainly hoping to cash in on the sentiment by announcing the release of the Coleco Chameleon. In a partnership with Retro Video Game Systems, the company plans to bring a new console that’ll play “20th-century 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit titles. There will also be brand new games with similar graphics available, too.” We don’t know how much it’ll cost, and the image you see is only a render, not the actual product, but by the time February comes around we should know more as the company plans to show off their product at the 2016 NY Toy Fair.
