Wearable Sleeping Bags Come In Star Wars Fashions

star-wars-wearable-sleeping-bags

Selk’Bags, the sleeping bags that you wear like a bodysuit, have been around for a long time. We wrote about them in 2006 and even reviewed one in 2011. Fast forward to today, and we find the company trying to expand its appeal by releasing some Star Wars themed suits, and we’re loving it. You can now get a Selk’bag in Chewbacca, Buzz Lightyear, Radiation Suit and Darth Vader flavours. Notice the two non-Star Wars items there? Neither did we, because who the heck cares, amirite?

Everything else is the same as a regular Selk’bag and has the following features:

– Removable booties allow you to wear your own shoes, or keep them on for warm sleeping; booties are reinforced with durable nylon
– Elastic no-hassle hand openings allow you to bring your hands in and out of the bag quickly and effortlessly
– Single Ezip for a quick entry and dual zipper pulls for easy pocket access
– A soft polyester shell with DWR (durable water resistant) finish is both comfortable and water-resistant
– An insulated hood for added warmth
– Draft tubes prevent heat loss around the zippers
– Wide zipper tape prevents snags when opening or closing
– A convenient carry sack for compact portability

They’ll set you back $109 and also come in children’s sizes for $89.

Star Trek Beer Koozies

star_trek_beer_coolers_1

Everything and anything can become branded merchandise. Are we going to write about it all? If it’s a slow Friday, probably. Although to be honest, we kind of genuinely like these headless Kirk and Spock beer koozies from the official online Star Trek store. They’re can coolers, so what’s there to really say about them? They cost $9 and are sort of awesome. The end.

R2-D2 French Press Is The Only Press You Want

itns_r2-d2_coffee_press_pour

We could make all kinds of Star Wars puns while introducing this product. But it’s too early in the morning, and we haven’t had enough coffee, let alone any coffee poured from the insides of something as awesome as this R2-D2 Coffee Press. So you’ll have to get by with our banal description and excerpted text:

Let R2 help you navigate your mornings more successfully with this Star Wars R2-D2 Coffee Press. He’s happy to help a human in need. Put your grounds and boiling water in his glass body, brew for a few minutes, plunge, and he’ll serve up 32 oz. of piping hot coffee. For folks playing along at home, that’s 4 cups, so even if your motivator is so bad that the Jawas put you back on the scrap heap, he can still get you going.

Not that there’d be much else to talk about, really. It’s a press, and it looks like R2-D2, and it’s totally awesome. It’s also priced just right at $40.

Star Trek TOS Communicator is Now Real; Trekkies Rejoice.

communicator-1

It’s a Trekkie’s dream come true. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Star Trek TV episode, CBS has commissioned the creation of the first fully-functional, museum replica quality

Star Trek Communicator based on the original Star Trek series. The Communicator pairs with your Bluetooth-enabled phone to deliver an authentic Star Trek experience complete with genuine sound effects, including the must-have chirps, plus crew voice clips from the Star Trek Universe.

Feel like Captain Kirk with authentic flip-to-answer action calling. Relive your childhood dreams of asking Scotty, or in this case maybe your friend Mike, to beam you up. Rest assured, the communicator is the real deal, utilizing structured-light 3D scans taken of the Alpha Hero Prop making it the most accurate replica ever made.

Including a stand and featuring contactless charging, it does provide some legit space-aged features. Beaming up to the Enterprise may still be in the works, but this is a solid start.
The Star Trek TOS Communicator is available for pre-order at StylinOnline.com for $149.99.

Star Trek Planetary Glassware

istg_st_planetary_glassware_set_grid

There seems to be quite a bit of interest over planetary-themed items, as can be evidenced right here. However, most of the time the planets in question are the ones in our very own solar system. That’s all fine, but what about the planets in other, completely fictional universes? The Star Trek Planetary Glassware celebrates some of the planets encountered in Gene Roddenberry’s tales.

We’ve chosen to highlight several M-class planets: Earth, the capital planet of the United Federation of Planets, home of Starfleet Headquarters, and the location of the main branch of Starfleet Academy; Vulcan, the Vulcan homeworld and a founding member of the United Federation of Planets; Romulus, the homeworld of the Romulans and the capital world of the Romulan Star Empire; and Qo’noS, homeworld of the Klingons and the capital of the Klingon Empire. We also threw in a shot glass for good measure which resembles a Borg Cube, the primary vessel of the Borg Collective

The glasses are sadly not microwave or dishwasher safe, but with a little TLC this set will keep your nerdy self entertained for years to come. It’s $40.

A Death Star Toaster

death-star-toaster-2

Has it been long enough since we posted about Star Wars merchandise? No? Well, too bad because look at this. It’s a toaster shaped like the Death Star. And (and!) it brands a TIE fighter on your bread while it toasts. There’s really not much more to say about it, I mean, it’s a toaster for crying out loud. But for those die-hard fans out there, it’s a fun, officially-licensed product that you can own for all of £49.99 (about $65USD). It’s on pre-order for the moment, with shipment in October.

R2-D2 Architectural Desk Lamp

r2d2-desk-lamp-1

We went at least a couple of weeks without mentioning anything Star Wars related. That’s gotta count for something, right? Right? Well, whatever, look, this lamp right here is the bee’s knees. Just look at it. It’s not your standard architectural desk lamp. As a matter of fact, perhaps it’s… “the architectural desk lamp you’ve been looking for…” Get it? Ok, we’ll show ourselves out. But not before telling you it’s $60, officially licensed, and being sold by Thinkgeek, which means it’s quality stuff.
