An Even Easier Rice Cooker

masterchef_01

Rice cookers have completely simplified the process of making delicious, fluffy rice, but they haven’t managed to solve that one annoying step of measuring the water. Until now! The Masterchef Rice Cooker by Jung Junyoung takes out the guesswork. Depending on the amount of rice you’ve placed in the container, it will automatically alert you when you’ve poured in the right amount of water. Using a dedicated smartphone app, you can also make adjustments depending on the type of rice or way you like it cooked.

What future kitchen appliances will be like

haier_1

Gotta love this twist on the rice cooker! Called the “Haier Multipurpose Cooker”, it takes the versatility of this popular appliance and multiplies it times 3! Instead of one unit for steaming, it features three cooking hubs with containers of different sizes.

Even though it’s not larger than a standard cooker, this means you can prepare multiple dishes at once. Better yet, each container can be removed, taken “to-go” and even washed independently, so you can avoid using plastic or disposable containers!

The Multipurpose Cooker seems like the perfect choice for the people who live solo. Allowing you to prepare three meals at once and store them for later consumption, this may just be the kitchen appliance trend for the future! A whole range of products that allows people to multitask, because time is oh so precious!

Nice cooker, rice cooker!

rorico_rice_1

Staying alone means having to cook for just one person… and cooking rice for one person is nothing short of a headache. Rice cookers are mainly aimed at families looking to cook large portions of rice. In my experience, cooking small portions in a large cooker usually results in a lot of overcooked or sometimes even burnt rice.

The Rorico rice cooker does something quite unusual to make sure one can cook small portions of rice without worrying about any cooking catastrophe. While most rice cookers use boiling water and pressure to cook huge quantities of rice, Rorico does the same, but constantly stirs/scoops the rice in a circular motion while doing so. Gathering all the rice together helps it cook efficiently as well as making sure that no rice gets burnt or stuck to the heated surface of the cooker. Plus, points to the designer for making giving the rice cooker such a friendly aesthetic, because if anyone has cooked rice before, they’ll agree that it’s truly a scary task!

Worry-free Rice!

midea_00

There are two types of home cooks – ones who love speciality kitchen appliances… and then there are others who microwave everything! Only kidding… but seriously, foolproof devices like the rice cooker are a must-have for any serious home chef. This one puts an artistic twist on the rice cooker, taking inspiration from the waxing and waning moon.

Observing that waiting for that perfect, fluffy rice is similar to waiting for a full moon, designer Abel Seo let the lunar cycle inform the look and process of the Midea cooker. The cooking cycle is expressed in a beautiful, straightforward way on the top section much in the same way we’d indicate the evolving lunar cycle. As easy to understand and operate as it is attractive, it aims to ensure you get your rice just right each and every time!

Rice Cooking Gone Green

The Eco Rice Cooker was named not only for its electric efficiency, but also for its material eco-conciousness. Made from either recycled plastic or bio-plastic, the design’s minimal interface features less (and therefore more simple) controls to minimize the number of unnecessary component parts. Its compact size is perfect for single servings and won’t take up valuable counter or cabinet space.
