Coffeeboxx, The Rugged Single-Serve Coffee Maker You Can Park A Car On

coffeeboxx-1

Ever been out on the job and hankered for a coffee? You don’t need to tote your Thermos around: with the Oxx Single-Serve Coffee Maker you can make a fresh cup in less than a minute, no matter where you are. Build to IP55 specifications, the Coffeeeboxx is waterproof, dustproof, impact resistant and even crushproof; it is apparently tough enough to withstand the weight of a car parked on top of it. Whether you’re camping, on a construction site, or having the ultimate tailgate party, the Coffeeboxx can put up with your abuse. It uses standard K-Cups, and has large, rubber-coated buttons that allow gloved operation, while the huge 2.5L / 84.5oz water tank holds enough liquid to fuel up yourself as well as a bunch of your buddies throughout the day. A carrying handle makes it possible to easily bring the 11 lbs. package anywhere you go, and a retractable 3 ft. cord gets out of the way for your convenience. All in all, the Coffeeboxx seems like the perfect coffee brewer for the serious outdoorsman or “dirty jobs” kind of guy. For a reasonable $225 pledge, you won’t even have to pay much of a premium on regular single-serve machines.

Flatev: The Tassimo For Tortillas

Flatev2

Tassimo will surely have a fit to see their brand name genericised like this, but we can’t help it. The Flatev is a single-serve, pod-using, tortilla-making machine… and we want one. You insert an uncooked pod of optionally flavoured tortilla dough, press a button, and a few seconds later you’ll be munching down on a freshly baked tortilla. There will be flour, corn, and blue corn tortillas, and each pod is expected to cost around $1. Yeah, we know, that’s highway robbery. But that’s the price you pay for this kind of product; you either get your tortillas pre-made and not-as-fresh, you make them yourself with some manner of labor, or you pay for something like the Flatev. The machine is expected to cost somewhere around $300, though details aren’t final yet. You can give them your email to be notified of when you can pre-order the thing. We’re not sure exactly when it’ll be available, but it’s going to be some time in 2015.
