E3 2014: How Tech Press Conferences Replaced Rock Concerts
Xbox One Exclusives Teased at E3 2014
Before today’s press conference, Microsoft Xbox chief Phil Spencer promised “we are dedicating our entire briefing to games” and unlike last year’s attempt to win our living rooms as an entertainment hub, all but one minute of today’s 90 minute press conference was dedicated to gaming.
There were dozens of games shown in trailer, teaser and live demo form, but the ones I’m most interested in are the Xbox One exclusives. At the end of the day, the PS4 is a bit more powerful piece of hardware, so I have a tendency to go with that console for cross-platform games.
Among the exclusives shown were the much anticipated Halo 5: Guardians, Sunset Overdrive, Fable Legends, Forza Horizon 2, and Project Spark, But there were also a few surprises, including the return of Crackdown and Phantom Dust, a complete remaster of all previous Halo games, called and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and a totally new IP called Scalebound, from Hideki Kamiya, the creator of Bayonetta.
So without further ado, here are the trailers for the top Xbox exclusive titles show today:
Halo: The Master Chief Collection:
Scalebound:
Crackdown:
Halo 5: Guardians:
Sunset Overdrive:
Forza Horizon 2:
Project Spark:
Fable: Legends
Phantom Dust:
I, for one am totally stoked for the return of Crackdown and Phantom Dust, though we’re going to have to wait until 2015 to get our hands on those titles. On the other hand, I’m going to be playing the hell out of Sunset Overdrive this Fall.
