Conquering Space in Style

the_rumker_01

Space exploration is becoming more exciting with each year that comes – especially with Space X throwing rockets into space like they’re going out of fashion. We’ve figured how to get there in style, but now we must figure out how to explore in style. And that task might become a lot easier with the Rümker Exploration Truck by Frédéric Le Sciellour.

With the appearance of conquering any terrain, the Rümker has a hugely impressive presence against any environment. The CMF choices found draped across this concept are strong, indicating heavy duty and assurance that this guy will bring you wherever you need to go, no matter what. What I really like about this monster is the attention to detail that Frédéric has evidently put effort into. From the carbon fiber wheel accessories to the luminescent energy/hydraulic pumps that sit underneath the main body, the Rümker would look out of place anywhere besides the moon!

A New Form of Space Exploration

A Formula for the future

e_lektron_01

Hands down, there is nothing more exhilarating than watching the likes of Lewis Hamilton or Esteban Ochoa flying down the F1 track at 245 km/h. With the year on year advances in Formula E, it’s only a matter of time before we’ll see Sam Bird and DS Virgin hitting the same speeds. What I will say is what makes the Formula E more interesting to watch is the gorgeously sculpted, aerodynamic body shapes of the vehicles versus the petrol based rockets used in Formula One.

One person who understands the nature of Formula E design language is Frédéric Le Sciellour, with his electric power manifestation “E-Lecktron.” At a glance, this speed demon just oozes out a sharp, air-cutting design language, so sharp you’d be afraid to touch it with your bare hands. The E-Lecktron is a powerful vehicle with a low center of gravity, sitting just as tall as the tires it rests on. The top face of the Formula E racer is wonderfully reflective, capturing the surrounding environment and making the vehicle seemingly smaller than it already is. Looking at this aggressive vehicle, I can’t imagine the E-Lecktron is limited to the road, I see this guy running along walls and who knows, maybe even upside down.

The Bold and the Dutiful Drone

thunderbird_drone_1

Okay kids, move aside. The Big Player’s here to show off skills. Airbus’ conceptual Thunderbird Drone means serious business. It isn’t meant for you to spy on your neighbors or hatch pokemon eggs… its purpose is much larger than that. The name Airbus is synonymous with perfection in aviation, and the Thunderbird is the tiniest addition to Airbus’ roster. It retains the aerodynamic airplane aesthetic, while also being drone-like with the quad-rotor layout.

Most drones house cameras in the center of their construction, making them your eyes in the sky. The Airbus Thunderbird however comes with a secure storage area that’s built for emergency payload transport. Be it anything from a harvested human organ, to a medical kit, to even emergency cargo like a life-raft or food/water supply… the Thunderbird aims at becoming almost a beacon for swift and reliable aerial support!
