A look back at Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup

Earlier this week, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S10 (and S10+), the company's latest and greatest Android flagship. Somewhat obviously, the S10 is also the tenth-generation Galaxy S, which means it's been ten years since the very first Gal...

The Galaxy S7 Might Be Water Proof And Use SD Cards

We are getting closer to the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S7, and it seems it will keep the best features of previous entries in the series, but many new ones. Find out all about them in this story!

Samsung keep innovating and surprising its userbase with improvements and new features in their mobile devices, but it seems the new Samsung Galaxy S7 attempts to return to the basics and return some classic features too. The new Galaxy S7 models by Samsung will feature in both its standard and curved version a slot for Micro SD, just like they did in the long gone past. Besides, they will be waterproof and have some kind of dust protection thanks to the IP67 system. Do all of this features sound familiar? Because these were all beloved features in the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Battery power will also be greatly enhanced, and the Galaxy S7 will sport a 3000 mAh battery in comparison to the 2550 mAh from current models. Its alternative version, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, could reach some 3600 mAh. This is logical, considering the new screen which is force-sensitive requires some extra power. What’s more, the first model could take up to two hours to do a full charge, while the Edge edition might take only 2,2 hours, with some rumors indicating that users might be able to perform inductive, wireless charging.

We can see Samsung are bringing several popular features that had been dropped in previous generations, being close to what we saw in the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Samsung Galaxy S6 was indeed a resounding success, but many users complained about the lack of HDD space and autonomy. If it isn’t broken, do not fix it, right?

The mentioned specifications aren’t the only ones that will receive upgrades or changes, as the camera will also be greatly enhanced. The Samsung Galaxy S7 will have only 12 megapixels, which is kind of surprising when we consider today’s standards when it comes to photography. This decision helps enhance performance in low light areas, but it still is something upsetting for a group of vocal fans. When it comes to the the front camera, it is going to feature a 5 megapixels one. The Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature on top 4 GB of RAM memory, and a QUAD HD screen.

Samsung are looking to renew and improve what we already saw in the Galaxy S6, bringing a similar design but improving its features and hardware for better performance. We are glad they listened to the user’s feedback, and great features from the past from the Galaxy S5 are coming back too. We can not wait to hear more about this upcoming phone once it gets officially introduced and put on sale.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Will Come In Two Sizes

It is not going to be long until we can enjoy Samsung’s next creation, the Galaxy S7, which will arrive in Q1 2015 in two variants. Read all the details in this story!

Samsung are working hard but keeping us expectant about the upcoming new member of the Galaxy family, the Samsung Galaxy S7. With many rumors about its specs, capabilities and features, it seems that we can finally confirm some information about its variants, and it is likely we will only be getting two, as opposed to its predecessor, the Galaxy S6.

The internet exploded in anticipation a few weeks ago when the first few rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S7 variants started popping up, and finally, thanks to a report from a South Korea media outlet, we can confirm at least two. Let us note that when it comes to the aesthetics, there won’t be any major changes when compared to the Galaxy S6, but what is under the hood is quite different, offering more horsepower thanks to its better processor and increase in RAM memory. Even though some rumors also mention a better camera with better sensors, the truth is in the end it might have less megapixels – but as any photograph enthusiast knows, this isn’t really indicative of its over-all quality.

At first, rumors claimed the Galaxy S7 would release in two version (Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge) with the possibility of a Plus version releasing in the future, but it seems this last version will never come to fruition and the only editions will be the standard one and the curved one. The original version will feature a 5.2 inches screen, while the cruved one will have a 5.7 inches one instead, similar to what we saw in the Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge Plus.

This strategy is very similar to what is happening with the last few Apple smartphones: the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which came out in two sizes (4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively). This way, users know what options they have from even before its release, and can already pick the size that works best for them.

Rumors indicate that Samsung is going to produce some 5 million units, at least initially, with 3.3 of them being Samsung Galaxy S7 while the remaining 1.7 are going to be Galaxy S7 Edge. This production cycle is scheduled for February of 2016, so insiders expect the new Galaxy phones to debut some time in March. It seems the new year will come with many new devices for the techies who are looking to update their smartphone experience, so all that is left is to wait and see how the Korean giant and its competitors will revolutionize the industry this time around.

When is the Samsung Galaxy S7 Coming Out?

Samsung Galaxy S7 Release Date 1

The year is coming to an end, and we don’t know a lot about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S7, but it’s not like we lack theories and rumors. This is especially the case when it comes to its eventual release date.

Samsung breathed new life into its Galaxy series with the Galaxy S6, and returned to shape providing one of their best phones in years. This is an feat they might want to achieve again with their upcoming flagship, the Samsung S7, Even though we do not know a lot about the elusive new model by the Korean giant, and information is scarce, rumors abound. The big question when it comes to this smartphone is when will the Galaxy S7 release, and at this very moment, we have three theories with compelling evidence and good chances of being true. On one hand, it is said that Samsung will be introducing their new Galaxy S7 during January, which would fit in the big scheme of things with an eventual Consumer Electronic Show presentation in Las Vegas – so far, this is the best theory out there.

On the other hand, sources from Korea Investment claim that we could expect its formal introduction at the Mobile World Congress to take place in February 2016 in Barcelona. The third theory, and the one with the least evidence, claims there will be a presentation in March, after Samsung introduce their new Note and not before, but many websites around the web claim this would be way too late, and that Samsung need to introduce their new flagship way before then, as to not have to compete with any other company’s flagship. Regardless, all seems to indicate the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be very, very similar to what we saw with the Galaxy S6, but with some improvements under the hood such as the new Snapdragon 820 chipset that is meant to replace the old Exynos 7420. Right under these lines you can see a few renders that the GSM Arena team uncovered to illustrate the few changes that are coming.

Whether any of these rumors end up being true or not, it would seem the announcement will be happening in the first quarter of 2016. While all these possibilities might sound like they don’t make a lot of a difference to us, for this mega-companies it’s an incredibly important matter for their stock is public, and speculation in the market might give or take resources from whatever Samsung have in mind for whatever the S7 rumor will be the year after. The cycles keep getting shorter, but as long as Samsung keeps delivering, it will all be okay.
