Boost you phone’s cool quotient!

The Ice View asks the question “what if your phone’s flip cover was see-through? The purpose of a flip cover is to guard the screen from any accidental impact, but that pretty much means you can’t see squat until you flip it open. Flip covers with circular or squarish holes don’t make sense either. It kind of defeats the purpose if your cover doesn’t completely guard your screen right? Well the HTC Ice View cover’s just what we all need. Using cleverly engineered PolyUrethane, the cover is actually translucent. But when rested on the screen, it allows you to see necessary information displayed on your lock screen. What’s better, it’s scratch and impact resistant, AND TOUCH SENSITIVE! Which pretty much puts it high above the competition.

A classy looking metal blip on the bottom left not only provides space for branding, it also conceals the magnet that unlocks your phone when you flip it over. Neat! Ain’t it?!

A Celebration of Metal

Materials dictate people’s first impressions of a product, and the HTC 10 literally shines! Wrapped in military-grade aluminum and finished with zirconium bead blasting for a premium feel and appearance, the new flagship smartphone is a deliberate celebration of metal. Defining the design is the 10’s immediately recognizable and distinctive visual feature: the 3.3mm chamfer that runs around the outer edge and gives the phone a bold new silhouette.

There’s more to the 10’s design than its visual distinction. The chamfer accentuates the iconic curved back of earlier HTC models, which gives the phone a comfortable, yet precise, feel in the hand. That comfort is brought around to the front, as well. The glass is rounded along the edges to make an elegant transition from the metal, smoothly brushing the user’s face when making calls.

Two parts, that’s it! One goal for this new flagship device was to improve the build quality and construction. In order to do that, the team at HTC Design dramatically reduced the part count to just two pieces, metal and glass.

Bespoke Desire!

When Motorola was acquired by Google, their first launch was the Moto X that boasted of a wooden back panel. This meant each back panel had a grain pattern that was unique and unmatched. Now we all know wood isn’t a wise choice of material for consumer electronics that sell in the millions (Wood products take time to get manufactured). Plastic or metal is much more suited for gadgets. HTC decided to bring that sense of uniqueness to plastic. The result is the HTC Desire 530, a phone that embraces your fun side with its speckled plastic design. Each phone has a unique speckled pattern. No two can ever be the same. That’s quite a brilliant approach, I must say. Not only does it mirror your individuality, it gives your phone a character by which you can recognize it!
