This dog leash + smart tag design tracks your pet’s emotions to help parents communicate better

Keeping a dog is one thing but being able to care for her the way she would want is entirely another. Pet-friendly tech innovations have made keeping track of your dog, feeding them at the right time, and even monitoring their health a little easier, but what if you could also know how your dog is feeling at a given point in time? Your communication and experience would become increasingly healthy – either way – and this is what PingPong intends to do!

Allowing the pet patent to “catch what they (dogs) feel, do what they want;” the PingPong is a communication and relationship enhancer that helps dog owners understand their pet’s behavior through their activities. Being a dog parent myself, I can say from personal experience that it’s really difficult – on many occasions – to figure out how your dog is feeling. Most dog owners would vouch for being able to understand feelings properly, but the fact is there’s more to a dog’s emotions than his wagging tail or cuddled-up sleep.

With the intention to give dog owners – new and old – not very sure of the right communication with the pets an option to use technology to their benefit. And then to be able to provide their pals exactly what they want. PingPong allows communication through expression between dogs and their owners. PingPong is a name derived through feelings of dogs captured through their expression as ‘ping’ and the activities carried out after understanding feelings as ‘pong’.

Comprising a dog collar smart tracker, a leash, charger and hub; PingPong can pick up five different dog feelings and represent the same in as many color notifications. These feelings include comfort, joy, stress, loneliness and fear. The color indications are displayed on the smart chip and leash handle. A yellow color ball bouncing high and fast displays joyfulness, blue ball bouncing rhythmically shows comfort, gray ball bouncing slowly is an indicator of loneliness in dogs, stress is shown by the red ball bouncing fast, while a fanatically bouncing purple ball is an indicator of fear!

The smart clip used on a dog collar picks up these emotions through the dog’s activities. It can measure the behavior and heart rate of the pet using onboard sensors and displays the five feelings on the app, leash or the chip itself for owners to see. The sensors can pick delicate emotional changes in the dog and the app can recommend activities that owners can undertake to match the feelings. There are daily, weekly and monthly activities recommended to the owners, to build a congenial environment/routine for the pals.

A Simple Solution to an Annoying Problem!

leveled_induction_cooktop_layout

If you’ve ever experienced cooking a meal with many parts on an induction hob, you will understand the challenges that you inevitably face. Most significantly of all is the pans fighting for space on the hob. This is the issue that Jaewan Choi identified, and his solution came in the form of rather ingenious, Levelled Induction Hob.

The Levelled Induction Hob makes the most of the ‘lost’ space in between pans by forcing a more efficient arrangement; the large hob is slightly elevated to allow the top of a frying pan to fit within the, now vacant, space. By maximizing the spatial efficiency, not only does it enhance the usability of the electronic induction cooktop, but it also increases the efficiency of the hobs, as the pans can fit comfortably in their dedicated space.

The clever use of space also brings added benefits to the kitchen; a compact product has been made possible allowing to take up less room in the kitchen… perfect for those busy counter-tops!

“The Leveled Induction Cooktop maximizes the spatial efficiency by reducing the occupied space on cooktop area up to 20% comparing to the existing one with same the functional quality. It is designed to be compact in order to give extra space and to simplify the installation process comparing to those with gas stove as well. It is convenient because people can prepare various foods at the same time by specifying different intensity and time. For instance, they can warm up the soup for 5 minutes with a strong intensity, and warm the water to make a cup of tea while frying an egg. Various cooking utensils can be effectively arranged and cooked.” Choi told Yanko Design.

“With one light touch on the intensity control button on the bottom of the cooktop, the first level of temperature parameter, which is the lowest intensity of its temperature range, lights up to show the ‘function-on’ status. The next second and third touches on the same button will higher up the heat levels in a sequence of ‘Low- Mid-High-Higher’. Touch on the left side of the intensity button will show up its own individual cooking time, which is also adjustable. Longer touch on it will turn off all functions.” Choi continued.

A Sleek and Modular Wireless Charger

Wireless charging units come in a variety of forms aimed at a range of different demographics, and now there is a newcomer to the party, and it brings with it a unique and stylish design!

This intriguing device is Mobile Island, a modular wireless charger with added functionality a toned-down design. At the heart of the product is Ground; the neat wireless charger that carries a simplistic aesthetic with minimal detailing. From this, further wireless chargers can be added as they snap together using magnets that are housed within the sides, allowing more devices can be charged simultaneously.

While wireless charges go someway into tidying up the desk space, there is still room to make the workspace a neater environment, and this is where the third module comes in, ‘Garden’; it is a three-quarter-circle shaped tray that satisfyingly attaches to ‘Ground’ and gives the user a space to store small belongings and stationary. This type of modularity gives lends its self to a plethora of possible additions in the future!

A Safer Way to Dry your Hands and Hair

hair_dryer

I admit, I can spend a lot of time in the bathroom getting ready for my day and it can end up looking like a war zone afterwards with items spread around and cords all over the place – which definitely can be a shock hazard if not put away nice and neatly. However, storing items like my hair dryer is a pain, simply because there really isn’t a place to store it.

Designer Jaewan Choi feels my pain. Jaewan understands that in order to play it safe in the bathroom, something had to be created. The A’Design Award winning Hair and Hand Dryer is just the perfect solution. The Hair and Hand Dryer work in combination and is stored neatly on the bathroom wall.

The rechargeable, waterproof frame for the magic duo is also super safe, because in order to work, a button has to be pressed thus reducing the risk of shock. When you finish using the hair dryer, you just simply place it back on the holder to be recharged. A perfect pair that will fit any modern bathroom design.
