LEGO Star Wars Snowspeeder: The Empire Strikes Brick

As good as The Force Awakens and Rogue One were, The Empire Strikes Back is still my all-time favorite Star Wars film. From the main and subplots, to the character development, to the ahead-of-their-time visual effects, it’s still one of the best popcorn flicks of all time.

Of course, one of the biggest moments in the film is the epic battle sequence on Hoth, with Imperial Walkers taking on Rebel Snowspeeders. If you love Empire as much as I do, you’ll want to check out this awesome LEGO Snowspeeder set.

This substantial kit includes 1703 pieces, and looks amazing. The snowspeeder measures about 15″ long when complete, and sits on a stand that describes some of the tech specs of the vehicle, officially known as the T-47 Airspeeder. It’s got some nifty details like an opening cockpit, rotating rear gun, and air brakes which pop open too.

The set also comes with two minifigs – a Rebel Snowspeeder Pilot and a Snowspeeder Gunner. They come with a blaster pistol, helmets, and electrobinoculars too.

It’s available over at the LEGO Shop for $199.99(USD), and will look awesome alongside your LEGO AT-AT. I only wish they had included a tow cable in the box.

Dad Builds Cardboard Star Wars Snowspeeder for His Daughter

Redditor PoorKidstoys daughter goes to a school that has a special “Drive In Movie” day for the last day of school. That sounds really cool, but the best part is that kids get to bring in a homemade cardboard car to sit in while they all watch the movie. So clearly set on giving his kid the coolest vehicle, he built her a snowspeeder from The Empire Strikes Back.

His 6-year-old daughter had to be the coolest kid attending this year. Her brother attended movie day a few years ago in the X-wing seen below. This guy sure knows how to build a cardboard vehicle.

The family probably lines up in different vehicles whenever they watch a Star Wars movie at home now. If they do that, I’m guessing that Dad would be sitting in an AT-AT. You can check out the build gallery over at imgur.

Snowspeeder Sled for Year-Round Fun on Ice Planets

Snowspeeders are awesome. One of my favorite parts from The Empire Strikes Back is the Hoth battle, with those Snowspeeders zipping all over the place. If you want to make your own snowspeeder, this is how it is done. You just need some cardboard, duct tape and a can-do attitude.

After this Snowspeeder was finished by “Fortyozjuicebox”, it was attached to a sled base for some winter time fun. He actually made this for a Downhill Derby Cardboard and Duct Tape Contest. It may not take out an AT-AT walker, but she’s got it where it counts.

Judging by the video, it looks like a smooth ride as well. I guess it won’t be long until we see daily Snowspeeder races. I personally can’t wait.
