Chess is the game of champions. While this chess set may not be the absolutely best teaching tool for the game, it works great as a design showcase. Each piece is composed of letters spelling out the piece’s name. This chess set design is actually available via Shapeways as a 3D printed object, so you can get it in your choice of plastics or metals.

I’m assuming Designer Alex Merto has a dirty mind, because this duder can’t even look at the damn alphabet without thinking of taytays and booty-holes. Just take a look at his pervy version of the alphabet in this series called Effing Typeface. Alex managed to find a sexy-word for each of the letters! That’s right, all 33 of them. Let’s see here, he’s got A for A-hole, B for Boobies, C for — huh? Oh. Oh my! Uh, you know what? You get the idea.

There are plenty of reasons why you might want to add text to images. Since people are using their smartphones as their point-and-shoot cameras these days, it makes sense to have a way to add typography to the snapshots you take with your phone too.
