Toaster USB Hub and Toast Flash Drives: Ready to be Jammed with Data

I’m sure you have a thousand and one flash drives by now, but as far as gimmicks go, you don’t see USB hubs with matching flash drives that often. Too bad this toaster USB hub doesn’t pop the flash drives out when they’re ejected.

The flash drives come in four variants, including one that seems to have been burnt to a crisp already:

The toaster also has an SD Card reader built-in. You can of course use the USB hub with any flash drive (and the toast drives with any USB hub), but, well:

Unfortunately, this delicious combo costs a lot of bread. ThinkGeek is selling the goodies separately, $28 (USD) for the hub and $25 for each of the 4GB drives, so for a fully-loaded four-slice toaster, you’re looking at $128.

MondoHub 28-port USB 2.0/3.0 Hub

MondoHub 28-port USB 2.0/3.0 Hub

The MondoHub 28-port USB 2.0/3.0 Hub provides four SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports and 24 USB 2.0 ports, which are perfect for charging your devices or transferring data. Measuring 23mm x 229mm x 112mm and weighing 354 grams, the device also has an automatic overcurrent protection and power switches for each port. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. The MondoHub 28-port USB 2.0/3.0 Hub retails for $89.99 each. [ThinkGeek]

Thunderbolt USB Hub Not as Fast as It Looks

The Thunderbolt connection interface can transfer data at up to twice as fast the speed of USB 3.0, but the latter is compatible with more devices and is also cheaper. What if we combined both worlds? The result would be nothing like this USB 2.0 hub. But kudos to Kikkerland for this confusingly named product which has neither Thunderbolt nor USB 3.0 on board.

Fans of The Flash, Captain Marvel or contradictions, the Thunderbolt USB 2.0 hub can be yours only $15(USD). Now it’s up to Ma Nature to come up with a USB-shaped lightning bolt.

Satechi 4-Port USB Hub Matches Apple Keyboard, Trackpad (and Pricing)

When it comes to computer accessories, we know that Satechi can swing the polar opposites of practicality. They have something that’s more useful than the average human being, and then there’s this. But the company also has a third offering: products that look pretty. Blatant copies, but pretty.

This 4-port USB hub is clearly meant to sit beside the Apple Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. If only it was wireless too.

You can order the 4-port hub from Satechi’s online store for $25(USD), which is pretty expensive specially when you consider that you can buy a hub with three times as many ports from the same company for only $5 more. That’s what I call dedication to imitation.
