Kitchens Just Got Way Cooler

if_01

Dominating the water fixture selection of the 2017 iF Design Talent Award winners, these two faucets are strikingly different yet both provide kitchen enhancements as functional as they are beautiful.

The first, called Water Curtain by Jiaqing Zhang, Chen Gao, Xin Ai & Liye Zhang is aptly named for its elongated spout which provides a waterfall-like flow. This maximizes coverage for washing foods or cleaning dishes. Furthermore, internal sensors detect the size of the object and adjust accordingly to prevent water waste. Better yet, it can be split-streamed so two people can use it at once!

The second is just as versatile but in an entirely different way. It’s called Rail Kitchen by Hyoung wrk Moon & Jeonghyeon Lee, and, just like the name suggests, this modern faucet is integrated into the countertop where it is capable of sliding from one side to the other. This makes it possible to use over the sink or the stove, all without having to lug around heavy pots! Its substation and flow system are located under the surface, leaving the visible parts sleek and clean.

An Impressive Spray

The specially developed internal structure inside the Aurajet redirects water inside shower head to deliver a showering experience like no other. One that’s not only beautiful but that you can actually feel! Bathers will find themselves immersed in a very dense stream of water with larger droplets, covering a wider area with greater force. Unlike conventional handheld shower heads that produce individual water jets with intermittent spraying, this hand shower produces a continuous flow, which effectively stimulates the nerve endings. Better yet, the design is composed of significantly less material which makes it more efficient!

Neoperl_Mikado_Aerator

The new Mikado aerator turns your water stream into a total eye-catcher when washing your hands! Its extraordinary, grid-like spray pattern is formed by individual water jets and creates a surprisingly clear and harmonious effect in its delicate design idiom. Not only visually alluring, it’s also a unique tactile experience as the force of the jets ranges from pleasantly soft to vigorously massaging. Better yet, this new aerator allows real water and energy savings using PCA technology which ensures a flow rate of ~0.5 gpm (approx. 1.9 l/min) virtually regardless of pressure fluctuations.

What’s In Your Water?

smartfaucet_01

Do you know what’s in your water at home?! Most of us would answer no, which is unfortunately one reason why expensive and wasteful water bottles aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. By targeting the most commonly used source of water, the kitchen sink, the Smart Faucet ensures users will have access to the cleanest drinking water possible paired with knowledge of consumption, efficiency, and filter quality. The design provides users with information about how efficiently they’re using their water as well as the contents of their water through a simple attachment to the kitchen faucet. The Smart Faucet houses a series of sensors that detects the amount and rate of water consumption, water efficiency, and filter status. This data is easily accessible to users via an app and online service so they are always in-the-know about their own usage as well as their community water source.

A Faucet Your Face Will Love

spray_01

The Spray Faucet features an innovative spraying function in which a continuous soft spray of water is released that can be conveniently used for a more comfortable face-washing experience. Better yet, it saves three-quarters the amount of water normally used.

The gentle spraying of water increases the comfort and convenience of washing the face. The design incorporates two outlets – one that releases comfortable spray water upwards and another that releases bubble water downwards. The height of the handle is 60mm (three times that of conventional faucets) which means that the faucet can swing flexibly. This makes it super-easy to wash the face and hair.

For environmental savings, the faucet can rotate 90-degrees and will shut down automatically when turned at a 45-degree angle. Using environmentally friendly lead-free copper with double plating, along with a high-temperature-baked varnish, it is highly corrosive resistant as well as safe and non-toxic.

Beautiful 3D Basin

This striking design brings an entirely new meaning to water basin, using a beautiful arrangement of ducts and channels like a 3D topographic map. While the spacing between channels may seem random, the wooden map actually represents a portion of the streets in the central part of London! So maybe you live in New York, or are just a big fan of Tokyo… no prob… other outlines of different cities can be applied for customization to the user’s taste!
