X-Files Pop Vinyl Figures: I Want to Buy

I started watching The X-Files again on Netflix recently and a few things jumped out at me I had forgotten. The first is clothing and hairstyles were terrible in the early ’90s. The second was I forgot how hot Scully is. I remember the Smoking Man being a bad guy later in the series, but I totally forgot how often he appeared in the first season.

If you are an X-Files fan, Funko has rolled out a line of vinyl figures for you to collect. The series includes Scully and Mulder, the Smoking Man, and a grey Alien.

You can pick any of the four characters for $9.99(USD) at ThinkGeek. My favorite bad guy was always the dude filled with the black goo, too bad they didn’t include him.

Star Trek Enterprise Bluray release next year tipped as fans pick box art

As Star Trek franchises go Enterprise may not be TOS or TNG, but it was the first one to be broadcast in HD way back in 2003. The Digital Bits points out that StarTrek.com is letting fans pick box art for Season One and Two sets that will see a release next year, and notes rumors all four seasons could ship before 2014. Since HDTV broadcasts didn't start until the third season this should be an extra treat for devoted followers, however the juiciest rumor listed is the possibility of an X-Files Blu-ray set next year from Fox -- stay tuned.

FBI finally goes digital, Mulder and Scully can finally throw out the filing cabinets

The FBI has announced that, after 12 years and $600 million, it has finally abandoned paper records in favor of a computerized system called Sentinel. Resembling a browser, it offers question-and-answer forms, case tracking and an ability to share files across the bureau's network. Assistant director Jeffrey Johnson said that the biggest hurdle was convincing paper-loving agents to get on board, so the system is designed to nag users into adding relevant data that's still extant on dead-trees. With any luck, some enterprising young agent will take advantage of the extensive database to find out the real location of Area 51.
