Who needs a butler with this side-table that holds magazines open for you!

This three-legged, chunky piece of furniture is Fido, an occasional side table that features an integrated magazine rack. The robust metal tubing that is used for Fido’s substantial framework gives this side table a solid and stable stance, allowing it to confidently sit alongside the existing furniture within the room. Contrasting the rounded form of the legs is the angular structure that forms the magazine rack; the form of the lacquered solid wood against the cylindrical tubing creates an element of suspense and interest. This has been further emphasized through the light finish that stands out from the matte-black legs.

The circular table that is elevated above the rack adds height to the item of furniture, as well as bringing the table to a more appropriate level. To add to its functionally, the orientation of the table can be adjusted to suit the user’s needs!

Battery Meets Bag

powerbag_01

Until we’re able to charge devices using our own future humanoid bodies, we’re going to have to keep coming up with gadgets that can keep our smartphones kicking! The latest in a trend of multifunctional chargers, the Powerbag does just as the name suggests.

Useful for everything from grocery shopping to picnicking, users can rest assured that their phones, tablets, and other devices will stay charged and ready to use thanks to a built-in battery 24000mAh powerbank at the bottom of the bag. Using the appropriate ports on the powerbank, users can run their wire directly into the bag or leave it outside. The bottom section of the tote is clad in an anti-slip material with ridges for traction. Better yet, it can be detached so the upper fabric section can be washed and reused.

This Sofa will have you drooling!

re_cinto_sofa_1

The Re Cinto Sofa’s an award winning piece of furniture, but I love it for an absolutely unrelated reason. From a distance, it looks like a massive bunch of french fries! And just like the fries, the Re Cinto sofa is all about making you feel comfortable and fuzzy inside.

The Re Cinto’s playful exterior lends itself to a lot of customization too. Each individual pillow can be rearranged and swapped for pillows of different colors, allowing you to make a collage out of your sofa set! The pillows themselves really give the sofa a sense of casualness (the kind you’d get from a beanbag), and at the same time look inviting. The Re Cinto also features a floating Plywood base that can be used to store items of your preference. The multiple cushion design can cleverly accommodate for cords and wires, allowing your chargers and other gizmo wiring to pass right through the sofa. Now isn’t that something you never knew you needed so desperately until now!?

The Re Cinto sofa concept has received the Red Dot Design Concept Award for the year of 2015; and has been a nominee for the German Design Award for the year 2016.
