Best XBox One Gaming Headsets

Xbox One, according to Microsoft, was the bestselling console for the second half of 2016. With Project Scorpio in the pipeline, Microsoft is aiming to bring in their A-game. But for the right gaming experience, you need the right accessories. If you haven’t checked out the best PS4 accessories yet, go check them out now. This post is all about the best and coolest Xbox Gaming headsets in the market. These have been handpicked from a whole lot of other headsets and they offer stellar audio quality for an immersive experience.

SADES SA-807 Gaming Headset

I have arranged these gaming headsets in the increasing order of their price. The SADES SA-807 gaming headset comes for just over $20. It is the least expensive gaming headset with the most positive reviews on Amazon. The neon green color on the black headset takes the glamor quotient to a high. It is compatible with the Xbox One but also works with the PS4, PC and any other device that supports a 3.5mm jack. The build quality could’ve been improved but there is little you can complain about something that comes for just a bit over $20.

Turtle Beach – Recon 50X White Stereo Gaming Headset

This one uses neon green along with white and it looks dope. The foam is black and it looks super premium. If you are a fan of white gaming headsets, then this is the one for you. The Recon 50X is available for just under $40 and has top notch speakers and a very sensitive mic. It supports the Xbox One, PS4, PC and devices with a 3.5mm port.

Xbox One Stereo Headset

If simplicity is your chief concern, then the Xbox One stereo headset from Microsoft will impress you. It uses a combination of matte black and glossy black on it which looks classy. The fabric ear cups are designed to fit over your ears and are extremely comfortable. Another great thing about it is that it is extremely light. Apart from the high-quality audio for gaming, you also get crisp and clear chat audio. These can be adjusted to independent game and chat audio levels. Overall, it is one of the coolest Xbox One gaming headsets from the house of Microsoft themselves.

HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset

HyperX would be a familiar name for PC gamers with their high-performance RAM modules. I, myself, own a PC with 8 gigs of HyperX Fury RAM. Coming from a reputed brand like Kingston, you expect only top-notch quality. And Kingston has delivered just that. My favorite part of the whole gaming headset is the HyperX logo. It is done in red and really stands out. They’ve made use of their signature memory foam for the ear cups which perfectly fits all ear types.

Turtle Beach – Ear Force XO One Amplified Gaming Headset

Turtle Beach has a huge collection of gaming headsets and I’ve picked two of my favorites for this list. The Ear Force XO One uses 50mm speakers for crisp and high-quality audio. One thing that I liked about this headset is the placement of foam at the top portion where your head rests. Some headsets have complete foam padding and some have none. This is a thoughtful inclusion which allows for long hours of gaming.

SteelSeries Arctis 3 Gaming Headset

The Arctis 3 is more of a premium offering on this list from SteelSeries. It comes with a lot of premium features which includes a perfectly contoured Ski Goggle suspension band, AirWeave ear cushions made using fabric inspired from athletic clothing and their SteelSeries Engine 3 for personalizing audio profiles and surround sound settings. The Arctis 3 is made from extremely durable plastic and not steel. But if you’re willing to pay more, you can go for the Arctis 7 which is made of lightweight steel alloy.

Razer Kraken Pro Analog Gaming Headset

Razer is probably the most famous brand when it comes to gaming gear. They have some of the best cases, keyboards, gaming mouse and gaming laptops. They produce some stellar gaming headsets too. The Kraken Pro is an example of one such headset. It is available in five different colors but my favorite is the green variant. It stands out and is flashy, just what I love. There are also 2 variants – one with 40mm speakers and a second variant with 50mm speakers.

ASTRO Gaming A40 TR Gaming Headset

The last one on the list for the best Xbox One gaming headsets is also the most expensive at $150. The A40 TR gaming headset from ASTRO looks almighty. The foam pads and the overall construction is top-notch and made using premium materials. This headset is not meant for casual gamers and is for the hardcore pro gamers and audio engineers. If you want more reasons to get yourself one, how about these. The A40 TR is the official equipment for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, has support for Dolby 7.1 and also has a removable/swappable mic. What more can you ask for in a gaming headset?

Retro-Bit Adapter – NES to SNES Cartridge Adapter

Back before the days of backward compatible consoles and emulators, there was no way to play the old games you loved, other than popping them back into their original consoles. Fortunately, these days there’s almost always a way to make things more convenient and this NES to SNES adapter is definitely a cool gadget to have. If you’re an owner of an old NES or SNES, you’ve probably noticed that both consoles take up quite a bit of space. Why not put the NES into storage and play its great games on your SNES? NDAD Full Body Golden Protective Vinyl Skin Decal For Xbox one Console and 2PCS Xbox one Controller Skins Stickers

We’ve probably all thought at some point that we wanted to customize the plain, boring looks of our consoles. Most are so drab looking, just black, gray, or white. This golden colored vinyl skin is a huge upgrade! This one is made to fit the Xbox One, but there are surely plenty of other great skins out there for any and every console. I’m a fan of the gold one, because it looks fancy, shiny, and slick. It makes me feel like a millionaire playing video games in my mansion. As another plus, this skin not only makes you Xbox One look cool, but it protects it too, from pesky scratches or other mishaps.

Francois et Mimi Smart-Band Wireless Bluetooth 4.1 Headphones Noise Isolating Headphones w/ Microphone

I know most people go through multiple pairs of headphones every year. They’re used to them breaking, or getting lost, because most are very cheaply made, or too easy to lose. Though I don’t have a solution for not losing your headphones (the pesky things like to fall out of my pocket), I do have a solution for finding a high-quality pair. These noise isolating headphones by Francois et Mimi are high-quality, with the latest in Bluetooth technology, and a modern, elegant design. They work for almost all tablets, computers, laptops, phones, and gaming devices. I personally think they would be a fantastic choice for 3DS, or mobile games.

KingTop Computer Gaming Headset for PS4, Xbox One

KingTop makes awesome, affordable gaming headsets for the frugal gamer. Some headsets can cost you over fifty bucks, while this one is only $25.99. It’s light and soft, comfortable to wear, and not clunky and heavy like many other headsets. You can adjust the microphone vertically or horizontally, placing it wherever it fits you best. There’s also a wide array of volume options, so games don’t have to be overwhelmingly quiet or loud. If you’re a PS4 or Xbox One owner and you want a good deal on a headset, KingTop is the one to get. You won’t be disappointed.

Hopefully, you found a great deal here! Remember, there are all kinds of great deals on Amazon all the time, and you don’t want to miss out. Gamers need their gear, and I think the choices offered here would be great additions to your gaming collection. Have fun and happy gaming!

Gunnar & Razer introduce their gaming lenses

gunnar-razer-01

GUNNAR, the team behind the market’s best gaming eyewear for PC and consoles have released a new line together with Razer, the most well-known accesory makers.

The GUNNAR Designed by Razer are a set of eyewear that use GUNNAR’s i-AMP technology, created to improve sharpness and ensure the users’ eyes don’t tire as fast while watching high resolution images. They come in black and green, inspired by Razer’s aesthetics and slogan: “For Gamers. By Gamers”. This new line includes two variants, the RPG Designed by Razer and the Cerberus Designed by Razer. Each model is created with light, highly resistant materials to offer durability and optic quality. It has soft thermoplastic temples with rubber tips as to avoid them slipping. Furthermore, using springs that flex and contort they can adjust to any head and face shape. They also have a wide frame as to create a panoramic field of view that immerses players in the action.

Min-Liang Tan, the Razer CEO was quoted saying “Razer has always stood for cutting-edge design with brilliant products that give gamers every advantage over the competition. GUNNAR shares our passion for product innovation and design elegance, and we’re delighted to collaborate with them to push the limits of performance and style even further.

The RPG set are different for being sturdy, with a double frame created to protect the eyes and lenses at the same time. Its four core hinge and ergonomic design for the nose ensure the best flexibility for the longest time. New Immersion Gaming Headset Could Help Control Gamer Rage

Immersion Headset image

Eliminating the possibility of getting mad enough to through their controller at a wall during a gaming session, this new headset could keep players calm.

Immersion Headset image

In a list including: the game itself being a pile of buggy rubbish, enemies thwarting your attempt at ousting them and sending your player the a checkpoint halfway across the map, difficulty settings are some of the most prevalent annoyances when gaming offline. Rarely bothering you from the start, once a game gets a few hours in and the ante ramps up, being unable to beat a level can be a nuisance when you’re looking for pure and relatively unhindered gaming fun in your favourite first person shooter. The Immersion headset might be a valuable asset to those offline shouty types then, as one of its boasted features is that can apparently curb gamer rage.

Rather than just being a purposefully headline grabbing feature that works by playing the swooning melody of a classical, Mozart piece into your ears, the science behind the Immersion headset is actually rather fancy. Designer Samuel Matson actually engineered Immersion from a hack of an Xbox controller (images suggest this is Xbox 360 only, sorry Xbox One fans!), which allows the headset to track the heart0rate of a player, adjusting the difficulty level of the game if it recognises data that suggests that the wearer is beginning to get a little angry.

While difficulty is easy enough to change in the single player element of a game, there’s no word on whether or not Immersion would be able to work with online modes somehow, given that publisher and develop servers use relatively unalterable data (e.g which level you are and how many multiplayer kills you’ve achieved) to match-make you with a group of similarly skilled players. However, the Immersion headset is currently just a prototype for now, with no retail or pricing plans currently announced, so there is a chance that the headset could be improved before (and if) it makes it to market.

We’ll keep you posted once we know more.

Astro Gaming officially unleashes A30 & A40 PC editions, drops prices to $100 & $150

Astro Gaming officially unleashes A30 & A40 PC editions, drops prices to $100 and $150

Astro Gaming's A40 headset and Mixamp Pro have generally gotten yearly revisions, but the portability-inclined A30 hasn't received the same love since its inception. That's officially changed this week, as the company's announced its 2013 PC editions (standalone versions) of the A30 and A40 stereo headsets are now available. Although the new units began shipping with the company's Mixamp-packing Audio System bundles last November, this is the first time it's really blasting the airwaves about the A30's revision. Both editions feature re-tuned drivers touting better response for bass and cleaner output, along with a re-tooled approach to the quick disconnect cables and a new media cable with a revised inline remote and mic. The revised cabling setup allows 3.5mm cables to plug directly into the headsets, making for easier replacements and swapping (previous versions had you connect to a short cable hung from the earcup, with a dual-pole connector).

Perhaps best of all, the A30 is now priced thirty bucks less at $100 (finally!), while the A40's been reduced to $149 (down from $199). If you recently purchased one, don't fret either -- Astro also let us know that orders placed the 11th of this month have shipped out with the 2013 editions. Hit up the press release after the break for more info while deciding if one of 'em might be your new ticket to supreme gaming sound.

Mad Catz F.R.E.Q. 7 gaming headset hands-on

Mad Catz announced the F.R.E.Q. 7 gaming headset last week, and the company has the $200 cans on hand here at Mobile World Congress. As you may recall, the marquee spec is Dolby Pro Logic IIx processing, which expands 5.1-channel audio to 7.1 channels for a richer aural experience. Another cool feature: these over-ears come bundled with both a standard stereo connector and a cord with USB for connecting directly to your computer (both have mini-USB on one end). The F.R.E.Q. 7 wasn't plugged in so we can't speak to sound quality, but they feel lightweight, and the red color really pops in real life. (There's also a matte black option.) The devices are currently available for pre-order, but you can get a hands-on look now in our gallery.

Sennheiser gets back in the (video)game, refreshes renowned PC360, PC350 headsets (update)

Sennheiser gets back in the videogame, refreshes renowned PC360 headsets

Sure, many gamers will choose between the likes of Turtle Beach, Astro and Tritton for their headset needs, but lest we forgot about Sennheiser. While the German headphone-maker hasn't announced anything too exciting for audiophile gamers in last few years, that's changed here at CES 2013. The ever-popular, and impressive sounding, PC350 and PC360 have finally been refreshed with features for times as the P350 Special Edition and the PC363D -- keep reading for the juicy details.

Aside from some aesthetic tweaks, the two headsets continue to sport the look found on its HD500 series audiophile headphones. As such, both units are still wired stereo headsets at their cores, loaded with swiveling boom microphones -- although non-removeable, placing booms in the up position serves to mute the mics. The PC350 Special Edition features a closed back design with folding earcups for travel like the original, but with purportedly improved sound. Sennheiser claims it's enhanced the audio using "Eargonomic Acoustic Refinement," which aims the drivers more precisely at your ear canals.

"What about the PC363D," you ask? The headset has the same velour pads as the PC360, but the back of the earcups is now more of a vent than a grill. The big news, however, is that the headset comes bundled with a Dolby decoder box for virtual 7.1 surround sound. Essentially, this spares you the need to pick up the likes of a pricey Astro MixAmp or Turtle Beach DSS. The headsets will be available this month, with no word on pricing as of this writing. Check out the press release after the break for more in the meantime.

Update: Despite Sennheiser claiming that these headsets officially launch at CES, some of our readers have the pointed out that both have been quietly available for at least some weeks now. Currently, Amazon US has the PC350 SE priced at $350, while it's UK site has the PC363D set at £209.99 (roughly $337). We've pinged the company for clarification.

Astro pulls curtain on 2013 A40 Pro gaming headset, MixAmp Pro

Astro's just refreshed its high-end wired A40 headset and matching MixAmp Pro, a duo that mash together gaming talents with audiophile chops. The 2013 edition of the headset adds an updated quick disconnect system and re-tuned drivers for better bass response and less distortion, with Astro claiming that they're "the most accurate Astro headsets ever." Returning features include a removable, swappable mic, Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound, customizable speaker tags and multi-system compatibility. The revised MixAmp Pro now allows game sound and incoming or outgoing voice chat to be livestreamed with a single cable, while also bringing new custom audio profiles, a smaller size and an optical port. You'll still have game-to-voice balance controls, Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 surround and a dedicated voice channel with the dedicated mixer/preamp, to boot. The pair are sold together for the same $250 price we saw for the original way back in 2007 -- check the PR and video after the jump to see where to grab them.
