Check out this newly announced rugged action camera ‘WG-M2’ from Ricoh. This waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof camera has an 8MP 1/2.3″ CMOS image sensor, a 204-degree ultra-wide angle lens, a 1.5-inch LCD monitor, a microSD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, a micro-USB port, a micro-HDMI output port and built-in WiFi connectivity.

Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the WG-M2 has the ability to capture both 4K UHD @ 30fps, 1080p @ 60fps or 720p @ 120fps video in MPEG4-AVC/H.264 format and up to 8MP still images in JPEG format.

Other prominent features include Video Capture Orientation Correction, 7 Selectable Video Effect Modes, Time-Lapse Movie Mode and Extended Movie Recording. Ricoh Unveils GR II Silver Edition Digital Compact Camera

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the company, Ricoh has unveiled the new GR II Silver Edition digital compact camera. This exclusive package consists of a silver-color edition of the GR II high-end digital compact camera and an exclusively designed camera case.

Unlike the standard GR II model, the GR II Silver Edition has a stylish, high-grade, silver-color leather-tone finish, a silver finish shutter release button and a silver finish ring cap.

In addition, the lens description are engraved on the front ring using a diamond-cutting process and the GR logo’s color on the camera’s front panel has been changed to white. The Ricoh GR II Silver Edition will be marketed in a limited quantity of 3,200 units worldwide. [Ricoh]

Ricoh Unveils WG-40W Rugged Digital Camera

Ricoh has unveiled a new rugged digital camera called the WG-40W. Specs-wise, this waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and crushproof camera boasts a 16MP 1/2.3″ back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, a 5x optical zoom f/3.5-5.5 lens (equivalent to 28-140mm in the 35mm format), a 2.7-inch 230k-dot LCD monitor, an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot and built-in WiFi connectivity.

Other notable features include Six LED Macro Lights to assist close-up shooting, New Underwater Shooting Modes (Mermaid and Mermaid Movie shooting modes are programmed to optimize color and contrast, based on the data of images actually captured under the water) and Triple Anti-Shake Protection To Prevent Blurred Images In All Applications. For video recording, the WG-40W records 1080p@30fps Full HD video in H.264 format.
