Plextor has recently unveiled a new line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs, the S2C. Coming in three different storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, these slim 2.5-inch SSDs (6.8mm thick) are built with Hynix 16nm TLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, an SMI SM2258 controller, TRIM support, SMART support, NCQ support and an MTBF of 1.5 million hours.
In terms of performance, the S2C SSDs promise to deliver read and write speeds of up to 520MB/s and 440MB/s (128GB model), 520MB/s and 480MB/s (256GB model) and 520MB/s and 480MB/s (512GB model), respectively. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Product Page]
