That’s What We’ve Always Wanted: Sleeping Outdoors In a Giant Clear Bubble

inflatable-bubble-tents-1

Screw privacy, we want to be outdoors with a clear view of the sky, but with none of those pesky insects and, you know, pests that lurk outdoors. We want to feel just as comfortable as we do inside, minus the heating, minus the privacy, minus the plumbing, and safety. But behold the night sky! The HolleywebTM Inflatable Bubble Tent House Dome Outdoor Clear Show Room with 1 Tunnel for Camping for Photo (that’s the product name, folks) is an inflatable bubble tent made from PVC with double and quadruple stitching to make sure the thing hods together. Of course if you want it to stay inflated, you’ll have to keep a positive air pressure inside at all times, so there’s the noise of the blower to keep you company as you attempt to sleep.

And for this piece of must-have outdoors lodging, you’ll be expected to pay around $1,600.

Foldable Lonely Tent

Foldable-Lonely-tent

There are times when you need to shield yourself from the outside world, but are too far from home to just ‘go inside’. Well, the BT1-11 Foldable Lonely Tent is designed to give you an easily-deployed cube of solitude when you’re outdoors. Unfolding easily, somewhat like a folding reflector, the BT1-11 stands 1300mm (51in.) x 1600mm (63in.) x 1300mm (51in.) when fully open and weighs just 2.2kg (4.85lbs.). It’s not meant to replace a full tent, but instead to serve as a makeshift office where photographers out in the field can quickly do their thing while blocking out some of the sun. There are air vents so you don’t completely suffocate on hot days, and then entire thing is expected to cost around $80 when it’s released. We don’t know when that’ll be, though.

These Sneakers Have A Built-in Tent

These Sneakers Have A Built-in Tent
If you can keep a house in your pocket, why not store a tent in your sneakers? The Sibling Collective created a pair of sneakers called Walking Shelter that store a simple tent in mesh netting attached to the back. While the concept is functional, it’s hard to imagine that people would actually wear these [...]

Cat Tents: Fur Camping With Your Kitty

Okay, they’re not really fur camping. Nor are they for camping. But they are meant for your cat. So the title was half right. Me? I’m mostly wrong and the rest of me is questionable. This is a Cat Tipi, a kitty-sized tent. I’ve heard of pup tents, but cat tents? I don’t know. All this talk about tents is getting a little to INtents for me. Jk jk, I’m fine. The Cat Tipis come in a variety of different patterns, all of which are aesthetically pleasing. Not that it matters because your cat will probably opt to play in a paper bag than something you spent your hard earned money on. What? Am I keeping it too real? Sorry, I’ll try and tone down the realness next time. NOT! I’m committed to hard-hitting journalism. Right after I take a bathroom break. I gotta pee!

Hang Out In A Hanging Cocoon Tent

We’ve seen hanging tents around here before, but those were like TENT shaped. These Hanging Cocoon Tree Tents are totally different in that they’re SPHERICAL. You know, like a ball. A big ball you sleep in. A big ball made of aluminum, ropes, nets, and is suspended between trees. So… not at like any ball you’ve ever heard of before. The Cocoon Tree sleeps 2 and you can add stuff in there like a table or bed, but NOT a microwave or Direct TV which is exactly why I’m gonna have to pass on it. Now, if they’ll meet me halfway with like, a toaster oven and an CD player from the 90s in which case, okay I’m back on board. Gimme gimme gimme!

Hemiplanet Cave Is An Inflatable Tent That Can Take A Beating

By David Ponce

Going camping is all fun and games until you have to actually pitch a tent. Pitching a tent isn’t fun and it’s no game. At least not for this klutzy editor. But the Hemiplanet Cave looks a lot simpler and a lot sturdier than your average everyday tent. Featuring a geodesic dome-like structure made from inflatable TPU bladders, a single pump is able to go from limp to rigid in a matter of minutes. The frame is shaped this way because it mimics the molecular structure of a diamond, a material known for its hardness; the frame is thus appropriately called Inflatable Diamond Grid” – IDG. The Cave sits six and sleeps three adults and a multi-chamber system ensures that even if one of the bladders is punctured, the entire thing doesn’t just deflate like a balloon.

High-tech tents don’t come cheap however: the Hemiplanet Cave is €500.
