Uniti-Stand-For-Imac-And-Apple-Displays

Between your keyboard, your iMac, your iPhone and your tablet, you’re likely to end up with a desk cluttered with electronic devices. The Uniti Stand hopes to bring them all together in one elegant all-in-one stand with integrated dock and charging system for your mobile and tablet devices. It looks just right, and provides you with “dual front-facing USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack extender to integrate your multi-media accessories.” There’s space underneath to tuck your keyboard away when you’re done, and the charging docks work with mobile devices of all sorts, not just iDevices. The stand can be sold alone, or paired with one or two cradles for your devices. As a pre-order on Kickstarter at the moment, it’s $199 for the whole set.

Sense+ iPhone Dock With Built-In Smoke Detector Might Just Save Your Life

Sense+

People have really begun giving more thought to how they make smartphone accessories. For example, the conceptual iPhone case with a built-in carbon monoxide detector could especially come in handy if you’re wary about carbon monoxide poisoning. Then there’s the Sense+ iPhone dock that does a one up on the case, because not only does it come with a gas detector, but it also has a built-in smoke detector and alarm.

The Sense+ isn’t just a concept though; it’s an actual product and it’s currently up for funding on Indiegogo. It’s a smart dock that comes with a companion app that provides you with custom personal protection options to safeguard the life of you and your family.

The Sense+ features a photoelectric smoke and gas detection sensors that can detect cold smoke that other systems might not be able to detect. This photoelectric sensor is then combined with a carbon monoxide sensor as a backup of sorts to protect you from even more threats. Once smoke is detected, an alert pops up and the Sense+ app will automatically start up the iPhone. If the user doesn’t respond, an alarm is sounded and the companion app will call emergency numbers listed on the phone.

The Sense+ draws power from the mains or from the docked device. It also has a built-in battery as a back-up power source. The dock is designed for iPhone 5 smartphones, but other devices can be connected via USB.

The Sense+ Dock is currently on Indiegogo, where a minimum pledge of $79 will get you one of your very own.

$250 Case Could Turn Your Smartphone Into A Laptop

casetop-05-03-13-01-1367589219

The processing power of a modern top-tier smartphone is impressive by any standards. But powerful as it is, a phone is still not anyone’s preferred method for getting any real work done. So why not use the phone as the removable “brains” of a laptop? That’s exactly what the Casetop from Lividesign aims to do. It uses your docked smartphone as the processor, the graphics engine, and the trackpad of a much more work-practical but still very portable 0.8″ thin laptop. Once docked, the Casetop provides a “11.1-inch 720p display, full-sized keyboard, stereo speakers, HDMI input, MHL video input, dual-mode MicroUSB, audio output and “always-powered” USB for charging other devices.” It seems to have room for a gargantuan battery, claiming 30h+ of autonomy, while allowing you to charge your mobile device. Better yet, the device works with any number of phones, featuring a slide-out clamp that should accommodate multiple sizes.

It’s currently doing the Kickstarter dance, seeking $300,000 with $250 pledges, which nets you one case.
