Sit and Sketch for Kids

The latest in FUNctional furniture from Martin Jakobsen, the Phant chair is designed for kids who love to draw! The lacquered basswood design’s signature is a number of long indentations in the top surface for storing writing utensils. Perfect for playrooms, kids can get spontaneously creative! If you’re worried about little one’s bums getting jabbed, the imprints can hold safer, softer markers and crayons too!

Comic Artists Draw Iconic Characters Blindfolded

Comic Artists Draw Iconic Characters Blindfolded

Back in 1947, Life Magazine had 10 famous comic strip artists draw their iconic characters blindfolded. The results will shock you! Just kidding, but it’s pretty interesting to see. Many more or less look like a Picasso take on the original. Which — holy shit! You think Picasso was blind? All this time I thought […]

Artist Recreates His Old Childhood Drawings 20 Years Later

Artist Recreates His Old Childhood Drawings 20 Years Later
Kiddie Arts is a series created by artist Telm Pieper. It features digital images inspired by his very own childhood drawings. Cool! Definitely looks like he’s honed his skills over time. Me? I hit my peak around 4 or 5 and it’s been all been downhill since. You win some, you lose some. Must be […]

Grown Up Versions Of Cartoon Characters

Grown Up Versions Of Cartoon Characters
First artist Isaiah Stephens brought us Disney Princesses dressed in Halloween costumes, then he brought us the same for Disney dudes. Now he’s back with an all new concept — popular cartoon characters all grown up! We’ve seen another artist tackle this type thing in the past, but some of you got pretty bent out of […]

3D Face Whiteboard Spices Up All The Boring Notes

3D Face Whiteboard Spices Up All The Boring Notes
When you hear the word whiteboard, you think of long (often boring) lectures in the classroom or even worse, dreadful office meetings. Twisted Boards are here to change those associations. The 3D whiteboard has a face coming out of it. So forget taking notes and start drawing ridiculous representations of your professors, bosses, or the weird [...]

Photos Look Like Drawings

Photos Look Like Drawings
Representations is a series of photos by artist Cynthia Greig. That’s right, those are photos. I know you’re thinking “But they look like drawings!” and you’re right, they do. But they’re not. They’re photos. She paints all the objects white and outlines them in charcoal which is what achieves that — how do I say? [...]

Angles Made Easy

ZigZag is a seemingly regular ruler with a twist! When we’re trying to draw a triangle, we usually use a triangle ruler, however, it usually offers a fixed degree. This concept combines the triangle, protractor, and traditional ruler to achieve a variety of commonly used degrees. Simply place one end of the ruler into the predefined slots on the other side to get the angle you need!

If Models Looked Like Fashion Sketches

If Models Looked Like Fashion Sketches
You Are Not A Sketch is a series that depicts a fashion sketch next to a 1:1 proportional model. The disturbing images were released by Star Models, a modeling agency in Brazil. The campaign packs a powerful message: say no to anorexia. Since society is always shoving down our throats that we should be stick-thin [...]

Grandparents Recreate Grandkids’ Drawings

Grandparents Recreate Grandkids' Drawings
Designer Yoni Lefevre uses childrens’ drawings of their grandparents and recreates them in real life using props and costumes inspired by the original work. The result is pretty adorable! Though that one grampa’s got waaayhayhayhaaay too many arms, but who am I to judge a child’s creative process? Well, since you asked, I actually think [...]
