Iron Man + TRON = TRON Man

We’re all about superheroes around here today, and why not end the night with something truly awesome? What you’re looking at here is a cool Iron Man helmet design, dressed up with TRON-style electroluminescent lighting.

It was made by Sauer33, and it is truly a sight to behold (at least in the dark). He created the helmet design for an Instructables contest, though I’ve yet to be able to find the full gallery of pics. I’m guessing it’s not yet live on the site. Regardless, if I saw Iron Man flying through the night sky wearing this, I’d definitely feel even more intimidated. Just look at those red eyes. And that strong yellow jawline.

Given Tony Stark’s propensity for the theatrical, there’s no way he would turn down the opportunity to wear one of these helmets. The only thing better would be an entire set of light-up armor. I’m sure Mr. Stark could afford to build one.

Light-Up Ties Light Up Your Work Life

Ties don’t have to be boring. If you’re sick of wearing the same checkered tie every day because it’s required at your work place, then fret not, because Electric Styles is here to save the day with their quirky ties.

They’re shaped like a regular tie, but what makes them different is the fact that they outlined with electroluminescent wire.

LED Outline TieThese ties not only literally light up your outfit, but they can also light up your work life in a figurative sense. I doubt you can have a boring day at work when you’ve got this tie on.

These Light-Up Ties are available for $29.97(USD) each on Electric Style’s Etsy shop. Each tie is sewn by hand, and they’re available in blue, green or white versions. Two modes for the light are available: on (static, so you’re lit up the whole time) and blinking (use this mode if you don’t think a light-up tie is enough of an attention grabber.)

TokyoFlash Kisai Uzumaki Watch Sounds Like a Sushi Roll, Looks Nothing Like One

The latest watch to make it from concept to production at TokyoFlash is a real looker. It’s called the Kisai Uzumaki, and tells time using a bold spiraling display that looks complex, yet is easy to read.

The Uzumaki got its start as a concept by Firdaus Rohman over on the TokyoFlash Design Blog, and received enough community support to be put into production. Despite its dramatic, futuristic styling, the Uzumaki is actually an analog watch.

Two concentric rings are used to indicate hours and minutes, while a single sweep second hand rotates at all times. Adding further interest to the design of the dials is a unique acrylic lens with gradually descending circles to enhance its whirlpool effect.

The watch is available in either black or silver stainless steel finishes, with a green/black or a blue/black face. Another unusual feature for an analog watch is the electroluminescent backlight so you can read it at night.

Overall, I think the Kisai Uzumaki is one of the better watches to come from TokyoFlash in a while, sporting cool modern looks, but not sacrificing readability. If you move fast, you can grab the Uzumaki for a special discounted price of $99(USD) – now through 11:30am Japan time on May 11th. After that, the price jumps up to $129.
