What is more important than looking after our own health? Its looking after that of a new-born! PURIO has been designed to make this task just that little bit easier, as well as making the parents busy and unpredictable lifestyle a bit less stressful!

This unique design clips onto the stroller that the little one resides in, and rather ingeniously purifies the air directly in front of them, removing fine dust and pollutants from the air and stopping them from reaching their developing lungs! To elevate the use of PURIO further, a secondary function has been seamlessly integrated into the unique form; mounted on the top of the device is a camera that provides a constant feed to the parent’s smart device, providing them with reassurance!

Place the cradle in a stroller bar and tilt it to adjust the camera angle.

Inside the filter cartridge, there is a pre-filter to filter out large dust and HEPA filter for purifying fine dust. LED light on the right button informs you when filters need to be replaced.

The application notifies you of today’s air quality and alerts you when air purification is required. Through the camera on the top of PURIO, you can check what your kid is doing in real-time.

Breathing is such an automated bodily function that it doesn’t even occur to us to think about what we are actually inhaling. Fine dust is not seen by the human eye but we very well know when that same speck of dust goes in our eye, it wreaks havoc. Similarly, for any living organism to be breathing in fine dust is harmful because at the moment we won’t see its effects and it will keep accumulating to cause big trouble later. Humans can still comprehend this and take precautions, but what about plants? With the growing trend of urban and city farming, fine dust can be a dampener on our sustainable efforts and overall health.

This conceptual Dyson air purifier, Ventila, is specifically designed to combat the fine dust problem in city farms. Ventila’s aim is to improve the ventilation system in these farms to create a healthier environment that results in a quality crop – pesticides are not the only toxins we consume and we must learn to be more aware of where we source our food from. Ventila has a simple but effective mechanism, it creates a barrier by merging vapor with fine dust. When both combine, the mere weight of the particle makes it drop to the ground with the water. Condensation but now it wears a cape!

The Ventila prototype was created to see how effective this method will be, to understand the results better, there has to be a number attached to the impact which the experiment provides. The water rises through a pipe in the ventilator and 12 pumps are used to convert it into water vapor. This water vapor is evenly dispersed using the basic working module of a humidifier. The prototype was tested and was found to keep 95% of fine dust particles at bay which instantly improves the quality of the plant’s health (and invariably ours) by A LOT. The build is made to be as transparent as possible so the farmers can see the health of the device too and maintain it well. We can wear masks but plants can’t, so let’s make design inclusive for all living organisms.

This futuristic fire mask uses 5G to guide you to the nearest exit!

Fire safety has been taken up a notch higher with Young June Kim’s Heart, a 5G navigation fire mask. In a future where innovation is supreme, and technologies like 5G will take over, it’s critically important for fire safety and prevention to be upgraded as well, and this is what Heart promises to do. Heart will be the fire mask of the future.

Designed to be stored in Emergency storage boxes all over buildings, with an attention-grabbing light on top, Heart will be easily accessible. On pulling out the fire mask, it will instantly connect with the 5G network within the building, and start detecting the exact location of the fire. You pull apart the fire mask, removing its case and swiftly attach the mask to your face. Removing the case exposes a soft cone-shaped element that covers and protects your mouth and nose from the lethal smoke. Lined with adhesive tape, the mask has been designed to ensure that it seals once it touches your face. This leaves both your hands completely free, and reduces the chances of it slipping off your face to nill. As the cone covers your mouth, the other red-colored end helps you navigate to the nearest exit. It functions as an interlocking lamp or projector, emitting a flashing light, and projecting the direction and the distance on the ground ahead of you. You reach the nearest exist within moments, and without inhaling any toxic smoke.

Kim’s 5G navigation fire mask can literally save millions of lives, and create a completely foolproof fire safety procedure. We can’t wait for such a game-changing concept to turn into a reality!

Everyone enjoys their coffee being made in a very particular and unique-to-them way, so is a coffee lover really able to enjoy an espresso made by a different person? Well, this question stemmed the creation of COSSO, the coffee machine that gifts the user with a capsule of coffee! Prior to leaving the comfort of their homes, COSSO enables the user to prepare the expressos that they will require to get them through the day-ahead! Once prepared, the user can store the capsules in the warm case that carries a beautifully sleek and clean aesthetic, which is shared by the coffee machine itself!

There is no denying that this concept advances the coffee making experience a few steps further, so could you see yourself using this?
