Halo Needler is Massive and Motorized

Remember back in November when NECA Toys unveiled that epic Halo Needler toy replica? It was listed at around $300 at the time and was made using digital scans from the game. That means it is hella accurate. That sweet Needler replica has now turned up on ThinkGeek and if you were Jonesing for it, but couldn’t cough up the dough, it’s a little cheaper now.

You can get one of the 3,000 unit limited run for $229.99. That still isn’t exactly pocket change, but if you are into Halo cosplay, you can’t get any more accurate than this. It was hard to tell just how massive this thing is when we first saw it. It is 29-inches long and 10-inches tall.

It also has LED lighting and motorized crystal shards that retract as you fire the toy. Power for the lights and motorized effects come from four C-batteries that aren’t included. You’d think that for over $200 bucks, they could splurge and throw in some batteries.

NECA Toys Halo Needler Replica Jumped Right out of the Game

What you see here is the most spectacular Halo Needler replica that you can actually buy. This thing comes from NECA Toys and was made with help from Microsoft and 343 Studios using the actual 3D models from the game.

The limited-edition replica has flashing lights, sounds, and the needles on top move when you press the trigger. You won’t want to run with this thing though – those needle shards look like they might put your eye out in some sort of bizarre Final Destination-like accident.

Check out the video to see more details on this awesome cosplay weapon.

It looks gigantic in the hand of a normal human. I always though of a Needler as more of a handgun sized weapon. This is the most screen-accurate needler you can buy, but it will cost you dearly, at a price of $300(USD).

Halo Needler Replica is Epic Volpin Propage

We have seen some incredibly cool props come from the replicating geeks over at Volpin Props. One of my favorites was the Terrible Shotgun from Fallout 3. The latest build to surface is definitely of the quality we expect prop maker Harrison Krix, and this time it comes from the Halo universe. What you see here is a realistic replica of the Needler gun complete with lights and sound effects.

The prop was commissioned for Tested, and it’s incredibly cool. According to Volpin, the replica required 15 molds to cast its 24 individual parts. All told, there are 54 LEDs used to make the needles and other components glow.

It’s not exactly a lightweight prop with the finished product weighing in at about 10 pounds. The replica pistol also plays three different Halo sound effects. If you want to see how the replica was built, you need to check out the time-lapse video below, and read the build log over on Tested.
