Washa|part

The Washa|part is a small wall-mounted washing machine that is perfect for use in small apartments. The washing machine uses steam to release particles from clothing. It is also sprays detergent onto items in the form of a fine mist to better suit the steam operation. It is a cool concept that will hopefully hit the light of production in the near future.

Tabii Food Sterilizing And Washing Unit

Tabii Food Sterilizing And Washing Unit

The Tabii is a food sterilizing and washing unit that uses the ionized water for total sterilization with minimum water usage. Ionized water kills more than 99.9% of harmful germs by oxygenated mixture of positively and negatively charged nano-bubles. This food washer also adopts the ultrasound technology to remove moisture content from solids without producing a liquid phase change. See more pictures after the jump.

Chewing Gum Battery Concept Promises Instant Power on the Go

This is one piece of ‘gum’ that’s going to be allowed in Singapore. As you might already know, the country is famous for its many rules to keep the country clean and orderly. The ‘no gum’ rule is just one of those, but the Chewing Gum Battery is exempt from that.

Chewing Gum Battery1That’s because this concept isn’t really chewing gum. Each pack actually contains sticks of paper batteries that can give your devices a boost when it’s running low on power. The packs of batteries would actually be kept charged at solar-powered dispensing stations so you can just go and grab a couple of sticks when you need them.

Chewing Gum Battery

It looks and sounds like an interesting and promising concept, but you have to wonder, if it’s even possible to make batteries this thin. One company already has developed Li-Po batteries as slim as 0.5mm so it might not be that far-fetched. The Chewing Gum Battery Concept was designed by Ping-Yi Li and is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry.

Burning Cup Heats up Your Drinks in a Jiffy

This isn’t the first time someone out there decided to come up with a gadget that made heating drinks up easier. Remember the HeatStick? However, this time around, the heating mechanism is built into the cup itself.

Burning Cup

No need for batteries or electricity either, because the heat comes from an exothermic (or heat-releasing) chemical reaction. Designer Ryan Jongwoo Choi explains how it works:

The sodium acetate contained in the inside of the cup design can regulate the heat of beverage. The liquid solution breaks the balance of liquid state with a tiny impact and hardens it solid, and it then generates heat momentarily.

When you feel the contents of your drink start to cool again, just give the cup another squeeze to set off the chemical reaction and heat it up once more.

It’s an interesting concept, assuming the cup can be designed with sufficient insulation that you don’t burn your hand when you squeeze the outside of it.

Captiva Lamp Concept

Designed by Stephane Pietroiusti, the Captiva Lamp can be used as an ambient lamp or a focused light for working. You just need to adjust the flexible neck to create a focused light, or point it upwards into the shade to diffuse the light. It is a cool concept that will hopefully hit the light of production.
